Josh Kirby is coming to Minnesota!
Josh, Kirby K9 will be coming the weekend of August 3rd and 4th to lead a decoy development camp. This camp will focus on training decoy development and foundations but will also address Cert Camp Prep. You don’t need a suit to participate in a working spot - there will be suits to share! However, please bring one if you have one.

We had a great time at the unofficial mock trial hosted by Twin Cities PSA Club this past weekend. It was a great opportunity to practice in a trial setting, but still able to do some training. Hero is looking forward to getting back on the trial field this season!

Happy 1st birthday to our Otto x Denali litter! 🎉
We have really enjoyed watching this litter grow up and thrive in their new homes. We have a range of PSA, French Ring, Police K9 (in training), and demo dog homes with this litter. Excited to see what the next year brings for these guys!

Hero and Denali had a great time at the expo this weekend! Part of what we love about our dogs is that they are solid in all types of environments and are super stable. They are able to work all day with all types of distractions and are social enough to interact with the crowd.

We are excited to announce our next breeding: Se7en x Denali!
A big thank you to Chris Smith for allowing us to use Se7en. We are expecting this to be an awesome litter!
We anticipate pups to arrive this summer and are currently taking reservations. If you are interested, go to our website https://gaugeworkingdogs.com/ to fill out our questionnaire.
Se7en is from the Otto (BRN 33067) x Gaia (BRN 40268) combination. Se7en is a large male and is very stable, clear-headed, and is dominant in his character. Se7en is social outside of work and in the home and has no dog aggression. Genetically during work however he displays a very dominant character, full pushing grips and carries very strong possession. Everything belongs to him, or so he believes. Se7en genetically has a strong search/hunt, this is due to his Grandfather Branco. His hunt is predominantly out of possession. Se7en is also genetically a very hard dog with a lot of drive which combined with his large stature makes him quite difficult to handle in training. He carries many traits from his mother line through Charlie as well, because of this he has a substantial amount of edge to him. Despite this forward edge and possession, he remains environmentally free and displays solid nerves. He has an off switch and is enjoyable to have around. He also has a goofy personality outside of work. Like his father and mother Se7en is very much a one owner type of dog.
Denali comes from a combination of Gauge (BRN 30977) and Norton (BRN 21322). She is a large dog with nice bone structure and a whole lot of personality. She is well-balanced and environmentally free. Genetically she has high drive, possession, and a dominant character, but also remains stable and clear-headed. She has high food, possession, prey, and hunt drives. She learns quickly and will happily work all day. Outside of work she has a goofy personality as well as an off switch inside the home which makes her easy to live with. She is very affectionate and bonds strongly with her handler. She is social with both dogs and people and displays solid nerves. In addition to PSA, she is also trained in Barn Hunt, with a RATS title, as well as Dock Diving with a personal best of 23 feet in distance and 18 feet in Air Retrieve.

Smaller (55 lbs) Female Malinois up for discussion. She is 9 months old from the Otto x Denali litter and has a great foundation in protection. Currently training in PSA but could do anything really. She would make a great demo dog. Always tail waggy and happy. High food drive and high toy drive. Good with dogs and people. She is a special dog but we need to make room for another dog. Videos upon request. PM if you are interested.

We went to a local festival in our hometown last night and it was a great exposure opportunity for the pups. There was live music, people, kids, dogs, food, drinking, dancing, etc. They were loving all of the attention from strangers and we were very impressed with their confidence in this new environment. Evening shenanigans with these three
Yesterday our company had therapy dog testing so it was the perfect opportunity to bring the pups out for some exposure. We took them to the bus station, an assisted living center (outside only), and a fire station. They were able to experience a lot of new things, sounds, smells, and people. They all did a great job! Currently 10 weeks old Denali x Otto
We are always working on things with the pups. Here is an example of working on a positive association with the kennel by rewarding a quiet/calm state of mind with some food. Pups are currently 8 weeks old 🐾
