Licensing is normally $5-$15, but we are waiving the cost for the months of August and September!

Mansfield Animal Shelter is also offering FREE microchips for Mansfield pets. Why microchip? Because a microchip is a permanent form of identification that can't be lost or removed, increasing the chances of being reunited with your pet if they ever get lost. Unlike collars and tags, which can fall off or be removed, a microchip is embedded under your pet's skin and registered with your contact information. This simple, quick procedure can make all the difference in ensuring your furry friend finds their way back home. Take advantage of this offer to give your pet an extra layer of security!

Pete came in with a urethral obstruction, which can be life threatening. Thanks to his mom acting quickly, we were able to get him all taken care of and he is now back to his normal self! 🐱

Miles recently stayed in the hospital with us as a precaution while his owners were out of town. We’re happy to report he didn’t have any seizures and we all loved getting to snuggle his soft fur ☺️

Cancer is a scary diagnosis, and options may feel limited. Our medical oncologist has the most up-to-date information to educate and guide pet owners on how to treat and manage different types of cancer. They can answer questions on prognosis, life expectancy, and how to best maximize quality of life. Our goal is to achieve remission, slow cancer growth, and prevent local recurrence of cancer. Cancer treatment in dogs and cats is well tolerated when compared to humans. Less than 5% of pets have side effects and most won’t lose their hair.

Our veterinary specialists have extensive training in their areas of expertise and our radiation oncologist in partnership with PetCure Oncology is equipped with the latest in medical technology to provide cancer treatments.

Cancer is a scary diagnosis, and options may feel limited. We have advanced radiation therapy techniques including stereotactic radiation (SRS/SRT), a precise cancer treatment that can be delivered in as few as just 1 to 3 treatment sessions. It may be used in combination with surgery or chemotherapy but can also be an option when a tumor can’t be removed or involves vital structures.

Our name is changing, but our quality of care remains. Animal Emergency Hospital of Mansfield will soon be named Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists. We are also spotlighting our team of passionate emergency DVMs and board-certified specialists alongside the medical services available at our hospital.

Meet Doctor Karanbir Randhawa, our radiation oncologist in partnership with PetCure Oncology and Doctor Michelle LaRue, our medical oncologist. Dr. Randhawa graduated and completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin. Technology and physics are the most interesting parts of radiation oncology for him. He believes the field has endless potential to improve treatment options due to technological innovations and discoveries of new uses for radiation and new radiation sources.

A Dallas native, Dr. LaRue completed veterinary school at Texas A&M University followed by a rotating internship at Auburn University and a medical oncology internship at LSU. She completed her medical oncology residency and master’s degree at Auburn University to become a board-certified medical oncologist. She's drawn to developing treatments that improve quality of life and allow pets more time at home with their loved ones.

Over the coming days, we’ll be spotlighting our team of passionate emergency DVMs and board-certified specialists alongside the medical services available at our hospital.

Meet emergency veterinarians Doctors Jasmine Patel and Candace Richardson.

Dr. Patel received her bachelor's in veterinary medicine and animal husbandry in 2011, followed by a master's in veterinary surgery and radiology and a senior research fellowship for diagnosis and treatment of captive and wild animals at Anand Agriculture University in India. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine equivalency through the American Veterinary Medical Association in 2022. Dr. Patel educates clients to help them understand their pet's diagnosis. In doing so, they can choose the best course of treatment and ensure their pet receives the highest quality of care.

Dr. Richardson received her undergraduate degree in Pre-Veterinary Studies and Applied Sciences at Lincoln Memorial University. After undergraduate school and prior to becoming a veterinarian—Dr. Richardson was a licensed ER medicine technician in Knoxville, TN for three and a half years. She then went to Texas A&M University for veterinary school. She continued to work in emergency care after graduating and has been in love with it ever since.

Meet Doctors Krysta Haggins and Brittany King, our emergency veterinarians. While we hope it won’t be needed, these experienced ER doctors are dedicated to providing high quality emergency care to pets that need it most:

A Michigan native, Dr. Haggins obtained her Bachelor of Science from Marygrove College and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She went on to complete a rotating internship in Grand Rapids with an emergency base, after which she fell in love with emergency medicine and critical care for pocket pets, exotics, dogs, and cats.

Dr. King received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 2005 from Texas A&M University in College Station. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of Grenada in 2010. She spent one year in Edinburgh, Scotland completing clinical rotations before returning to Texas to receive her license and to practice veterinary medicine.
