Losing a dog is heartbreaking, but what a testament to your dog that you loved them so much that you feel broken…Dogs are the most selfless creatures, I bet if they could talk they would always tell us to save another dog…they will never be ‘replaced’ but a new fur baby will probably help your hurting heart! ❤️ 🙏🏼🐾 Rescues and Shelters are drowning right now…please spay/neuter your animals and please consider fostering or adopting when you are ready to add another animal to your family! 🛐

Please, if you are considering adding a dog or cat to your family, consider checking out Humane Society of Elkhart County so we can help them get animals into homes and out of the shelter especially with this heat! Adoption fees are waved! That is anywhere from $200-$600 worth of vet care already done for your new pet! Fully vaccinated and spayed/neutered! So many benefits to adopting animals especially when it comes to cost! It allows you to be able to use that savings on future care, food and all the things! They even allow families to foster for them so please get on their website and find out how you can help or adopt! 🙏🏼🐾💕

This is what is on our hearts…there is no end in sight…we have AMAZING dogs who have gotten ZERO applications…it’s hard to do this when you feel like you are failing so many. I know fostering is such a big ask, but there are many other ways to help…a big one is visiting your local humane society or rescue and help give the dogs some human interaction. Being surrounded by barking dogs and just walls for almost your entire day, some large shelters for 24 hours because there simply are not enough people to help get them a change of scenery is slowly ruining amazing dogs, they truly are losing their minds💔…it takes every minute of workers and volunteers time to just get them all fed/watered/kennels cleaned. It is HEARTBREAKING. When we see friends with “oops” litters it is VERY HARD to not want to just cry…these things CAN be prevented! We HAVE to do better! We just have to…..we have spay and neuter appointments every month and I would even pick your dog up and take them to the appointment and bring them home to you if that’s what it takes. PLEASE reach out…no questions or judgement…I will help in any way I can with open arms if you are willing to HELP US keep the pet population down…🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🐾

Help our local shelters make room for wonderful dogs who may not get the chance if we can’t get adopters! A fully vetted spayed/neutered dog for $50.00 is incredible! Adopting a dog not only saves that dog, but opens a kennel to save another dog! Please consider adopting when you are wanting to add a fur baby to your family 🐾

⭐️HAPPY UPDATE⭐️

Once again….our AMAZING followers and supporters with the BIGGESTS 💗’s EVER came through and stocked our sweet sweet Curry with SO MANY cans of dog food that he will be set for a while. He is slowly gaining weight with the high calorie quality food you all sent from our wish lists! To say you fill our hearts and help us continue on when the days are HARD is an understatement!

In a time of overwhelming intake requests and dogs who have been with us a long while and need to find forever homes, We probably shouldn’t have taken on a medical case like Curry’s right now with the financial hit it will take on our rescue, but this boy has melted us and deserved a chance at moving forward to living his BEST forever and you all are helping us be able to make thst happen!!!!!

There are still a lot of steps that need to happen to figure out a full long term plan though a specialty doctor…. but for the next month we are weaning him off prednisone after being assessed by our vet and determining that the steroids are not benefiting him at all at the stage of his disease. As long as he continues to gain weight and eat well with this watered down drinkable diet, Curry should hopefully be able to live a pretty normal dog life other than eating and chewing bones like a normal dog! Very easily attainable though with minimal extra work to put in! And that happy patient tail wagging while we make his dinner makes any extra time put in 100% worth it!

🐾 Everyone meet Curry 🐾

We pulled this sweet golden retriever mix boy from a local shelter Ark Animal Rescue and Adoption who are just drowning in dogs with no end in sight like almost every shelter across the country. 💔 Curry is suspected to have Masticatory muscle myositis (MMM), an immune system disorder in which the dog’s immune system identifies the dog’s own muscle tissue as foreign and attacks. Curry is only able to open his mouth an inch. Some MMM dogs are not even able to eat or drink and the only humane solution is euthanasia. We are SO THANKFUL that other than the food & treats Curry eats, he is able to function like a normal dog! His new discovery is carrying a small bone in his mouth with his front teeth 🦴 He is such a happy and sweet boy! He will be seeing our vet once this round of steroids is finished and they will evaluate him for the next steps or if he needs to visit a specialist in Indianapolis. With Curry eating pate food that we turn basically into a liquid meal, we are once again in need of some donations. Our least favorite thing about rescue is to ask for help but with 10 rescue dogs in our care, we are going through 30 lbs of kibble and a case of wet dog food a week! That’s $80.00 a week on food alone! 😩🫣 if you have it in your heart and are able to, we are including our wishlists below! I will also post a video of our sweet guy eating his dinner so you can see how he has to do it! Needless to say he gets cleaned up after every meal just like a baby would! We just love him! We also welcome anyone who may fall in love with his sweet face and want to consider foster or adopting him to reach out! Please prepare for the heat coming our way and if you know someone with an outside dog, check on that dog and remind them to be ready to bring them inside a barn or building at least to be out of the heat.

We honestly should not have to remind people to be humane to their pets
But…… The next week is going to be brutal 🥵
Please if you have an outside dog
Bring it in!
If you can’t bring it in, make sure it’s in the shade and has plenty of FRESH WATER 💦

We’d love to introduce you to this sweetie!

Meet Rose. Rose actually came to us about a year and a half ago as a retired breeding mama. She found her people and has spent the last year and a half being SO loved. Sadly, her family is relocating out of the country for mission work and have learned they are unable to take Rose, as originally planned. 😔

Rose has the sweetest demeanor. She’s just a little ole lady who loves in the most gentle of ways. A true snuggle bug. She’s good with humans of all ages and dogs of all sizes. She will be 9 this month, but still has the energy of a youngin.

You may have noticed that adorable tongue hanging out in a couple of these photos. This is because Rose only has three teeth. That doesn’t stop her from enjoying soft food and, most recently, gumming on bones!

She loves snuggles, snacks, and siestas. She’ll do best with a family who won’t leave her for long periods of time but can do the crate for 4-5 hours or so if needed. She’s spayed, up to date on her shots, and has recently had blood work done to be sure she’s in tip top shape.
