Community Room One
Meet our residents in Community Room One! We have open adoption hours Tuesday through Saturday 9-3. We hope to see you soon!
Miss Patty ❤️
Can you help us find Patty a cozy home for the holidays? This sweet girl is about 7 years old, she came to us after her owner passed away. She is a mellow girl who can be shy at first, but really loves affection as you can see here! It seems she hasn’t enjoyed cat company in the past and hasn’t been around dogs. Patty would enjoy a low energy home where she can be loved, snuggled and spend time watching the world through windows.
If you think you’d be a good fit for Patty, please give us a call at 388-1100. Thank you! ❤️
It's Alumni Sunday and today we have a great update and video to share featuring Bailey! Her mom and dad write, "How we love our Bailey-girl! She loves morning and evening snuggles, long walks in the woods, running fast in the pasture we fenced-in for her, all interactions with children. This morning she discovered how to crack the morning ice puddles- pure joy! Last month we drove to NY and PA so she could meet her college-bound humans individually before they all descend on her for Thanksgiving!" Hooray for Bailey!
Silly Nachos!
Adoptable doggo Nachos takes training volunteers very seriously. He instructs them on the proper amount of treatos to give and how often to give them (a whole bunch and very frequently) and also correct dog park etiquette, which he is demonstrating for you here.
Sweet Nachos is a goofball at heart, he loves people more than anything (except treatos). Please check out his bio on our website www.homewardboundanimals.org or give us a call at 388-1100 and we will be happy to tell you all about him. ❤️
Mika and Bella ❤️
Adoptable dogs Bella and Mika have been patiently waiting for their new home since mid-August. They are 10 years old but have the health and energy of dogs half their age. Unfortunately that’s made adoption tough for them as people who want older dogs find them to be too energetic and for people who would be a good energy match, they are less inclined to adopt older dogs. We need our community’s help to find these deserving girls a loving home. They are sweet, snuggly, generous with their kisses and absolutely love their play time. Please give us a call at 388-1100 if you would like to meet them and please share! ❤️
Kitten season is still going strong! These 4 tiny cuties were born at the shelter yesterday and their mom Andrea is taking really good care of them. Andrea was soaking up some volunteer love close by when this video was taken, rest assured she is a really wonderful, attentive mom.
Foster homes are the best place for moms and kittens and we are in need of more fosters! If you would be willing to open your home to our smallest of residents, please reach out to Lauren at [email protected] and she will be happy to answer all of your questions!
Please share ❤️
New kitten Prince Charming is giving Tiny Tim a run for his money in the “Cutest Kitten” competition! 😻
Little Elvira is honing her ‘catting’ skills while in her foster home. Kittens in foster have the benefit of growing up in an environment where they can explore, be curious, love and learn to accept love.
If you’d like to learn more about fostering kittens, cats, dogs or even our rodent residents, please email Lauren at [email protected]
❤️
Adoptable dog Bonnie and her gorgeous floppy ears are ready to fly out of the shelter and enjoy the weekend! All she’s missing is her new family, could she be waiting for you?
Please check out Bonnie’s profile on our website or give us a call to learn more about her. 802-388-1100
Please share for Bonnie!! ❤️
We would like to share a moment of kitten zen with all of you. This is one of our many kittens in foster, he’s able to play, relax, be loved and just be an all around happy kitten in his foster home!
We also want to say thank you to our supportive community. Right now we have 11 litters in foster homes, over 40 kittens in total. We couldn’t do this without the amazing people that step up to open their homes to our tiniest residents and to all of you who donate in response to our ‘urgent need’ of kitten supplies.
Kitten season is in full swing and not showing any signs of slowing down! If you’d like to learn more about fostering please reach out to Lauren at [email protected] or if you’d like to help us with much needed items, please check out our kitten ‘Wish List’ on our website

These boys get along famously and are regularly brought to our dog yard together by our amazing dog walking volunteers. Enjoy! ❤️
Bo and Noah!
We hope you’re enjoying this sunny weather as much as our adoptable dog Bo is with our brand new volunteer Noah! These guys had a lot of fun burning off some extra energy which is so important for our dogs.
