West Texas thank you for everything, for those that know my story know how much Mutty Paws Ranch means to me. I have made lifelong friends, learned so much and found out what is truly important to me. When my kids are older I will get back into the dog boarding business, it is truly a passion of mine. For now I am going to enjoy my family and a life I don’t need a vacation from.

The Good Shepherd Dog Boarding will be open at this location April 1st. Please check them out, they are fantastic!

🚨ANNOUNCMENT🚨

In July of 2022 we moved to Midland and Mutty Paws Ranch was born. We started off small, 5 kennels and buying more anytime we came across them for sale on FB marketplace. The demand for dog boarding in Midland was HUGE, bigger than I could have ever expected, we then also started doing doggy daycare. I never in a million years imagined how busy we would be, especially not knowing a soul when I moved to Midland.

In the fall of 2023 my husband Devan got a new job in Alaska, which we knew meant our time in Midland was much shorter than we planned for. We now have the opportunity to move to a place on the lake, closer to our family. That being said Mutty Paws Ranch will be closing. It was not a decision we took lightly, it is still really hard for me because I love doing this so much but I feel as if I am being called to be home with my children again. The last 1.5 years I have worked everyday, 12-14 hours a day (but you know what they say it never feels like work when you are doing what you love) taking a few days to shut down here and there for some much needed rest.

For now I will only being taking reservations one month out. I will keep you all as up to date as possible. If you need suggestions on where to take your dogs after we close, please shoot me a text I am happy to recommend places based on your dogs individual needs. My hope is someone who loves dogs as much as I do buys our house and continues on in the dog boarding business.

I hope I will continue to see my friends until we are ready to move. Thank you Midland for making all of my dreams and hard work come true.

This Saturday, February 3, 2024, Rescue Runners will be dedicated in the memory of Dan Corrales for his love and dedication to the animals of Midland.
The memorial, which is currently set up in council chambers, will be moved to Midland Animal Services for this event.

Any behaviour takes time.

Training a puppy is much easier than going through a systematic behaviour modification later on in life, but still, BOTH take time.

Time, patience, consistency, commitment and repetition.

If you attend puppy classes, but don’t spend much time training beyond that - is it really a surprise your dog is picking up some “unwanted” behaviours later in life ?

If you train recall, but only to a point when your dog can recall in one environment and without any distractions - is that recall going to be 100% reliable at all times ?

If you don’t teach your puppy the value of engagement with you and walking by your side (𝙣𝙤𝙩 to be confused with walking to heel here !!), then should you really complain when your dog pulls like a train at 12 months old??

You got a dog. Great.
Now enable them to become their best selves.

Train.
Guide.
Commit time.
Give opportunities to learn.

Permian Paws In Need is at Tractor Supply on Rankin Hwy from 9:00 am - 12:00 today! If you are needing help with food for your pets, please go pick up some today. There is no fee. No donation is required. This is for those who truly need help with feeding their pets. Have extra pet food/supplies you would like to donate? Pay it forward and donate it to Permian Paws In Need!
They will also be at Tractor Supply on I-20 in Odessa from 2:00-5:00 today!
Monetary donations are always welcome as well! Recipients are not required to pay nor donate. Everyone goes through tough times and your pet’s welfare is their concern!
