Let’s play spot the dog! Here Charlie is working on “place” in the yard today during Day Training.

Day Training is a great way to get Board and Train level training but take your dog home at night. We offer Day Train on Tuesdays and Thursday alongside our Daycare programs.

Rachel is still in the hospital and will be until at least February 2nd. After coming home and some rest and recovery, we will be back to daycare, lessons and classes starting on February 17th.

🍭🍫🍬Candy🍭🍫🍬

Miss Candy is the sweetest girl you’ve met! She was found by a homeless man in our community and came to our home as a foster back in May 2023.

She was heartworm positive and has now completed treatment- so she’s ready for a home for Christmas!

-Candy is estimated to be 3-4 years old
-Has a clean bill of health with all her shots now that she’s completed heartworm treatment
-Candy is 35lbs and the perfect sized pocket pitty mix
-She’s crate trained and house broken!

If you’re interested in Candy, please send us an email. We can arrange times for you to come meet and greet with her.

We’d love to get her into a home for the holidays!

Reminder to brush those double coated dogs instead of shaving them down this summer! Double coats help with tempature regulation, don’t lose those benefits by shaving.

As the weather warms up you might be tempted to shave or clip down your Australian Shepherd to keep them cool.

STEP AWAY FROM THE CLIPPERS!

Science has proven that double coated (guard or top coat and undercoat which is fluffy and soft) breeds should not be clipped down but should instead be kept throughly brushed to remove the dead undercoat. The undercoat is vital in keeping your Australian Shepherd warm in the winter AND cool in the summer. If you shave them, they’re unable to regulate their heat naturally which makes them more susceptible to heat stroke and sunburn to the skin.

Instead, grab a regular metal comb and “line comb” the dog to remove dead undercoat. Go slowly.. line by line down to the skin. This will help your dog keep itself cooler and reduce shedding in your home!
