Position: Assistant Dog Trainer / Kennel Technician
Location: Minneapolis, MN

K9SF, LLC, a professional dog training company, is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Dog Trainer & Kennel Technician to join our team. This role involves assisting our trainers and helping with daily operations.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

🐾Assist trainers during training sessions
🐾Handle dogs in a controlled manner
🐾Care for dogs, including walking and feeding
🐾Clean the facility and maintain a tidy office
🐾Greet clients, schedule appointments, and manage client records
🐾Answer phone calls and client questions, and take messages

Qualifications:

🐶1+ year(s) of dog handling experience
🐶High school diploma or equivalent
🐶Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
🐶Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and stay active for 7+ hours
🐶Professional, punctual, and responsible

Hours: Part Time - Weekends, some evenings, about 20 hours a month
Possibility of increased hours and position advancement.

This weekend was a remarkable one for us at K9sf! Our incredible duo, Sarah and Marty, showcased their skills at a NASDA (North American Scent Dog Association) trial, and Marty made history by becoming the 5th pug ever to earn a UL-1 title! 🏆 We couldn't be prouder of their achievement!

At K9sf, we're dedicated to training dogs of every variety – from pint-sized pugs like Marty to larger breeds with different temperaments. Whether it's mastering obedience or addressing reactivity or other unwanted behaviors, our team is here to help every pup reach their full potential. 🐶💪

This program is not a training program but will tailor enrichment, stimulation, confidence boosting and exercise to your dog's specific needs in a personalized manner.
A day at K9SF’s Active Pup Daycare leaves your dog both mentally and physically tired, having indulged in a variety of activities that align with their unique personality and energy levels in an environment they will thrive in. A day at Active Pup may include mental puzzles, structured pack walks, dog sport evaluations, one-on-one favorite activities, confidence trips, small temperament-tested playgroups, treadmill time, and a whole lot more. No two days are alike, ensuring a customized experience your dog will love.

Drop off 7:30 am - 10:00 am
Pick up before 6:30pm

Cost: $100 plus tax

This role has the potential to grow to a full time trainer position.

The assistant trainer will be responsible for assisting in private sessions, facility up keep, and aid with board and train dogs.

Previous experience with dogs is highly preferred.

Starting pay ranges based on experience ($12-$15 an hour)

At K9SF, the health and safety of your dogs are of utmost importance to us. With the recent community outbreak of Canine Influenza and Bordetella, we want to reassure our clients that we are taking all necessary safety precautions to prevent any spread. During this time K9SF and both our boarding partners are increasing the frequency of disinfectant measures, optimizing fresh air flow into the facilities, and increasing communication between all parties involved. During the course of the outbreak, K9SF will be limiting dog to dog interactions. We have implemented a modified approach to socialization to ensure the safety of all dogs. This will still include social distance training and individualized training. We may recommend considering switching your dog's board and training program to a day train program to minimize exposure risk even further, especially if your dog is high risk. High risk dogs consist of but are not limited to young puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with preexisting conditions or compromised immune systems. We also highly recommend vaccinating for both CIV and Bordetella. We kindly ask all clients to inform us of any potential exposure or symptoms, prior to their stay or sessions.

We are committed to increased communication and transparency at this time. We encourage clients to reach out regarding any concerns and how we can safely continue your dogs training and education.

Please note that AERC is treating any cases with H3N2 symptoms as potentially contagious & taking safety precautions to keep patients safe.
