🌟 Heartbreaking Urgency for Holly 🌟

It is with a heavy heart that I share this urgent plea for help tonight. Many of you know and love Holly (formerly Diem), the sweet but spicy little black Chihuahua mix who came into our lives through Unleashed. She was a broken soul, a dog deemed “too mean to be adopted,” but that never stopped us from seeing the beauty she had deep within her.

Holly was rescued and transferred from another shelter years ago, and after some time, she found her perfect person: Gina. Gina saw in Holly what the world often overlooks – a soul in need of love, understanding, and time. Holly had been through so much trauma, but with Gina by her side, she healed. The bond they share is nothing short of magical. Holly’s trust was hard-earned, but once she lets you in, she loves you with everything she has.

Gina has been Holly’s absolute heart and soul, and I can’t think of a better home for her. They are truly soulmates.

Tonight, our world came crashing down. Holly became critically ill. After a second emergency vet visit, we learned that Holly has thrombocytopenia – her platelet and red blood cell count is dangerously low, and without immediate blood transfusions, she will not make it through the night. The cost of this life-saving treatment is around $2,500 just to get her through to morning. Holly needs help, and she needs it now.

We are desperately searching for a more affordable solution for her treatment, but time is running out. Gina has given everything to Holly. Now, we are asking for your help. This sweet dog doesn’t deserve to die, especially when her condition is treatable. Every dollar donated will go directly to Holly’s care and her chance at life.

Please, if you can find it in your heart to help, even the smallest contribution could save her life. Holly is family, and Gina is beside herself right now. This is a soul in need – a precious, loyal, loving dog who has only ever wanted to be loved back.

Please, let’s show her the same love and care that Gina has given her every single day. Holly’s life is in our hands tonight.

We are in desperate need of short-term fosters for small dogs who are on the brink of being euthanized in rural shelters. These pups are born into an area where there simply aren’t enough homes, marketing, rescues, or adoptions and every day, more of them lose their lives due to overcrowding. But we have a chance to save them.

We are organizing a transport to bring them to Kansas City, where they will be adopted within days because small dogs are in high demand here. But they need YOU—a loving Kansas foster home for just 2 weeks or less. That’s all it takes to give them a chance at life. 💔

🌟 Here’s how you can help:
1. Foster a dog: Provide a temporary home for one or two of these sweet souls. We’ll provide everything—supplies, food, everything you need to help them feel comfortable and loved.
2. Sponsor a dog: We need $100 sponsorships for each dog to cover transport costs, vetting, and other expenses. Every little bit counts to save their life.

This is literally a matter of life or death. They were born into the wrong place, and without us, their lives could be over just because of their location. But with your help, we can save them—simply by giving them a temporary home and helping them make it to a place where there’s demand for their love and companionship.

Taking my place on the center of this chair to share my story. Rescue life adjustment had started off a little rough. I was sad that so much change had happened when I lost my home. My person couldn’t care for me so they did what was best and gave me the opportunity to find a new home. I knowed they tried so hard to do their best but this new chance is for the best. Since being at the shelter, it’s been good to not worry where food is coming from.
As you can see I have one special eye. I function fine with my vision impairment but I do prefer to have people go a little slower with me. I love when people verbally greet me, then reach to pet me.
Food is the highlight of my day! I love all kinds and will eat at any time.
I would love a home where I can thrive and be safe. I’m an easy cat for sure. Since coming to the shelter, I have been finding happiness. Enjoy toys and scratchy posts. I am quite self occupying but I really love human companionship.

This Thanksgiving we're thankful for every single pet that's come through our doors to find their happily ever after. 🐾 Pets like Church here, who came to us wounded, emaciated and in really rough shape. Just a few days ago we posted about a momma cat and kittens that were discarded during a move. 😢 Just wanted to give a huge shout out and THANK YOU to everyone who donated to help them out as momma and her newborn kittens are now safe in our care! 🙏👏✨ They've still lots of growing to do but as soon as they are old enough to be spayed and neutered they, and momma will be available and added to our website at unleashedrescue.com/adopt. Hello, My name is Church, but I’ve heard them whisper that I look like I could be from Pet Sematary because of how rough I am. I’m only about a year old, but I feel so much older. My body hurts all the time. I don’t remember much, but I do remember being loved once. Then, one day, I was left in the country, alone and confused. I’ve been so hungry for so long that I’ve forgotten what it feels like to be full. My ears itch and hurt, and I scratched them so much that they’re barely there anymore. My fur is missing in places, replaced by raw, bloody patches that sting with every move. But even though I’m in so much pain, I can’t help but roll over and show my belly when someone comes near. I just want to feel gentle hands on me again, to know what it’s like to be loved and cared for. I’m so tired, but I’m still fighting. I still have hope that someone will see me and help me. The nice people who found me say they want to take me to the vet to make me better, but they need help. I need help. Please, if you can, consider donating to my care. I just want to be a happy, healthy cat again, to chase a toy or snuggle in someone’s lap without hurting. Every little bit helps, and I promise to give all the love I have left in return.
