Really cold today, put the first round bale out and Hobbs was first to the taking. It wasn’t long before the others found their way then Burt put in one set of the upper doors to the loft. ♥️

Lots of fun with friends Nancy and Tommy watching fireworks from the boat at Smith Mountaim lake. Boats lined Blackwater for miles and miles of lit bow and anchor lights. 🍾🎉🇺🇸

Today we finished the half walls for the remaining 5 stalls and wrapped the office and tack rooms before Burt had to go off to Masonic practice.

The weekend is not over yet but we are steadily seeing the progress. More stalls going in this weekend and maybe get it wrapped today and ready for the siding. I am getting excited and couldn’t sleep last night dreaming about it! ♥️

More barn work completed this weekend. The other side of the barn completed, and then we framed the office and started on framing the tack room. Framed out for the doors and windows. ♥️

Realized I had not posted any pictures of the barn progress lately. We took some time off for a little vacation with friends to Turks of Cacaos and Dominican Republic and the barn was put on hold. Got back and Spring was Sprung all around us. Back to work on the other side of the isle way 🌼

Extending wall to second story, but ran out of 12 ft 2x4’s, so it’s back to Lowe’s tonight. Love my Cowboy. He is fearless!

Stall mats cut and placed today and third stall front enclosed.

3 Stalls are framed out and stall fronts are going up. Will at least have three done for our horses before bad weather

We now have a roof on the barn. Time to get started on at least three stalls for the Winter weather. If anyone is looking for framer/ roofer/ fence installation, we highly recommend Alan Lipscomb. He did a fabulous job on the roofing. Honest and dependable!

All the rafters are up and they have started laying the Perlins so they can mail the metal roof to those.

Entire second floorboards done. Now going back and reinforcing the floor. Next to put the second floor band boards and start placing the roof. When under roof we can begin framing up the sides. Took time to do some pasture mowing in the front pasture.

Concrete poured under apartment driveway and entire barn. So happy, now we can move forward ♥️

Garden is plowed and turned over, greenhouse is filled with herbs, flowers and vegetable seed. I am ready for Spring and summer 😁

Satisfying bonfire after picking up dead trees and down limbs yesterday

Hard work yesterday picking up downed limbs and trees. Property owners behind us are cutting down trees and they are falling on our fence a crossed our line. You can see the fence line barely, it is Bobwire.. Gathered rocks while I was cleaning up debris now building a rock garden over the culvert pipe that goes to the pond. Doing some dress up for Matthews wedding coming in the Fall.

With all of the snow and rain we have had there had been a delay in getting things accomplished with the barn raising. Latest this weekend was leveling ground and preparing for concrete pour. Now to get the electrician and Plummer out to lay the underground wire and pipe so the concrete can be poured. It is hard getting everyone organized and here to do their part before the other can work. Andrew’s concrete is ready to lay gravel and rebarb/ concrete but can’t until plumber and electrician are to do their jobs. 😩

Thanks to help by Matthew this past weekend we got some headers up. It has been raining on weekends when Burt could work on it. Burt is off this week and for Christmas received some new battery operated and compressor power tools. We will be out there this week 🐴♥️

6 more posts to go and we can start the band boards and ground boards dor pouring cement. These last 5 posts will be difficult. Getting 24 foot 6X6 posts in the center so that the second floor can have some windows, is going to be tough. There will be no moving them once in hole and they need to be straight and on 12 foot centers. Need some strong men over here besides me and Burt. I think I will run the tractor. Lol
