Hello from Black Canyon Vet Clinic!

The month of August is Itchy Pet Awareness month!

Our summer days might be dwindling down but allergy season for our pets can be all year round.

Signs of allergic itch:
Frequent licking, chewing, biting or scratching
Excessive rolling, rubbing or scooting
Recurrent ear problems
Hair loss
Body odor
Rash, redness, greasy skin or scabs

If your pet is showing any signs of allergies itchiness, please reach out your veterinarian to get a check up!

Low-Cost DOG only Spay & Neuter Clinic for AUGUST,2024.

Registration date: Wednesday, 7/17/2024 at 10 a.m.

$40 for a dog & $21 for rabies vaccine.
You can register 1 dog per household. First come, first serve basis.

We open the door at 10 a.m. You can line up as early as you like and wait. We will have a sign-up sheet on the door around 7 a.m.

Once you write your name and phone number on the sheet, you can go home (or wait) and come back at 10 a.m. to finish the registration.

Additional vaccination fee (optional) :

⭐️ Thunderstorm season is upon us, and firework season is fast approaching. Keep an eye on this page to learn how to help your pets stay safe and comfortable during this noisy time of year. ⭐️

🐾 All animals need a place where they feel safe and can decompress. A safe zone is a special new area we'll create together for your dog. 🏠

🔇 The important aspects of the safe zone are that it provides a place that:

Avoids sensory overload 🚫🔊
Relatively quiet 🤫
Minimizes smells/odors – if you can smell it (e.g., household cleaners), then it is likely overwhelming for the dog. 🌬️
Not too bright, no flashing lights, no shiny or reflective surfaces 🚫💡
Creates predictability 🔄
This is your dog's space to get away from stressful stimuli 🐶
A place your dog can choose to go to if he or she wants a break from activity 🐾
Gives them quiet time to recover from stress (a key for developing resilience) 💤
Minimizes talking, petting, or training 🙅‍♂️🐕

Low-Cost CAT-only Spay & Neuter Clinic Montrose Animal Services on TUESDAY, JULY 16TH.

Registration date from 6/13/2024 at 10 a.m.

$30 for cats & $21 for rabies vaccine. If your cat has a rabies vaccine already, please bring the certificate.

You can register 1 female & 5 males per household.
