I chose to do my patterns tackless, but you can show your horse in a halter too- the only strict requirement is to use R+ (positive reinforcement) instead of pressure.

We are so excited to announce other local sponsor, Sundance State Bank!
We got to have the pleasure of visiting the bank after we visited our CCMH long term care and hospital residents.
We are so happy to be doing this work and to have such a wonderfully supportive community!

Sundance State Bank staff had the pleasure to meet the Flat Broke Performance Horses “Theraponies” last week! Sarah and her children frequently take the ponies to the long term care residents and those in the hospital at CCMH in Sundance. They are quite a hit and we are proud to help sponsor the program!

I couldn’t help but video and share this moment of cuteness… Z and Gum helped sort the two year old heifers out of the big bunch of cows yesterday- a big deal when the cattle are bigger than you are!🐮

Track chores just got an upgrade! ✨🛻✨🦄

Making the most of a track system means scattering resources like water, food and shelter to encourage as much movement as possible. I have feeding stations at each corner of my track and scatter slow feed hay bags once or twice a day, depending on weather and how many critters are on the track.

So far, I am loving this system! My horses are happy and fit, and I am feeding less hay than if I were to just give them free choice round bales (horses are naturally “trickle feeders” who need access to forage nearly 24/7).

We did it! The ponies made their debut in therapy work, visiting the assisted living and nursing home residents in Sundance.

It was an absolutely beautiful November afternoon and a reminder to practice gratitude every moment we share with these wonderful creatures.

I am seriously considering starting a GoFundMe to help purchase boots and bum bags so we can take them into facilities to visit the residents when the weather doesn’t cooperate so much. If you want to support our efforts, keep watching the feed for updates or send me a message!
