Welp Here we are.

What is for dinner tonight?

Well we are featuring two local products that everyone knows I am a big fan of, Wayne Wilkin's Backyard Bees Honey And The Mediterranean Restaurant & Cafe.

If anyone has TikTok, you have seen infomercials for the piezano pizza maker. Well i had to get one and try it. So tonight that is what we did.

Anyone who comes to the store knows i am addicted to Wayne Wilkin Smoked Chili Roasted Garlic Honey.

Also, I am a huge fan of The Meditereanean’s dough that they use for pizza (and i am also a part time employee) So last night i went in and purchased 10 dough balls from them.

Tonight’s main pizza creation is a 12 inch pie with light marinara, with grated Romano Reggiano and fresh mozzarella, topped with fresh basil and the amazing honey!

As always never trust a skinny cook!

Everywhere i have worked and lived you always have a faction of people that just HATE where they live, some for probably good reason, some just want to spoil the Wheaties that mom poured for them that morning. Regardless, if you want to see the good of what our society has to offer, Come to Morrow!

Our area is only as good as the people in it, and in the twelve years that i have been here, I am thankful that my life has been impacted by the people here. Thank you for showing humanity still has a chance!

You have asked and we have brought it to you!

We now have our Non Gmo Layer Mash in a pellet form!

In recent years there has been a major uptick in customers feeding their Chickens Nongmo chicken feed. This bag of feed will not break the bank either at 22.00 for a 50 # bag is very reasonable considering market prices for other brands of the same quality.

Side note;

Did you know owning chickens is one of the easiest fastest ways for you to guarantee immediate food for your family? Say for instance meat chickens from start to finish usually take 8 weeks. You will average 6-8 lb chicken when this is done! Obviously not all of that will be straight meat weight BUT you will have first hand knowledge on what you are feeding your chickens so when you eat, you will know who what when and where! (We have feed for this too)

Welcome to a new venture that will be starting this Spring:

The Domesticated Redneck

With Buckleys starting to sell Dogwood Farm chicken and Sugar Run Farms beef, why not take the love for cooking and give you the experience of what I enjoy doing and couple it with the incredible meat that we will be selling! Plus we will be having other collaborations with other local friends and making concoctions to satisfy that belly of yours. We will also be having a Youtube channel dedicating it to things of Buckleys and everything in between, everything a domesticated redneck needs to know!

Tonight’s menus is;
Hickory/Apple Smoked Ribeye/Strip/Sirloin from Sugar Run farm
-The secret is rubbing Steak with walnut oil
-Light sprinkle of Garlic and Tony Chacherea!
-Put in Smoker at 400
- After four minutes flip and cook for three more minutes(This will all depend how well you like your steak!)

Smoked Stuffed Baked Potatoes with Bacon sour cream and Green Onions.
-Take Baker Russet Potatoes rub with Walnut oil.
-Sprinkle Salt & Garlic on Potato
-Cook in smoker at 400 degrees for 1 hr
-Take potatoes out and cut top off
-Scoop out potatoe and put in a side bowl
-Mix butter sour cream bacon sharp cheddar cheese and green onion with potato extras (amount all varies on how much you like of each ingredient)
-Scoop mixture back into the the shell of potato
-Top with extra sharp cheddar cheese and bacon
-Put back into smoker at 400 for 20 minutes

Mark Nichols (Shoestring) *MISSING*

Karen Montgomery (mother), Mary Nichols Throndson, and I (Jessie Nichols, Sister) are on our way to Johnson City, TN right now. We've been making the 12 hour trip since we filed an official Missing Person's report with the Johnson City Police Department for Mark . Mark's last contact was late Tuesday evening after getting home from the local ER; he was confused and disoriented. A welfare check was executed per our request yesterday at noon. Police were unable to achieve contact at his residence at that point. His landlord and a friend were able to gain access to his apartment yesterday evening- all his personal belongings were inside his home, his phone and identification are there, but he is not. He is presumed to have left on foot. Local hospitals have no record of him being a current admit, nor do they have any John Does at this time. If anyone has contacts in this area who can share this and/or help in any way, please let us know and share this post. Any updates we receive will be posted with Mark tagged in them. It’s that time of year where education is better than being naive.


PROPANE FILLUP WITH WEATHER ……

We have had a few customers come in and do not understand the issue with filling up propane tanks during a thunderstorm and quite frankly get pretty upset when we say we are unable to at that time......

Here is the long and short of it. We don’t want to get blown up.

Sometimes when you see that everything(the storm) is gone, that is only partially true. Read the below pics and you can get an understanding of why we are a stickler to the “30 minutes after the last thunder clap”.

Educate and maybe you will understand........

There are days that are hard and there are days that are easy. Seems anymore the hard days out weigh the good. Seems there is more negative "news" and negative talk wherever you go. It gets to a point where the weight of the negativity is just too great sometimes.

Well, this morning, I had a customer come into the store not to shop or buy any products, but to share with me something that we have both prayed together for him. As this gentlemen walked in I could see out of the corner of my eye that he had an unusual "giddy to his step." He is an older gentlemen who is quite and usually a man of few words.

As he was walking toward the counter, I asked him "What can I do for ya pal?"

And with a gleaming smile and a breath of fresh air he said
"I didn't come in today to buy anything, I just wanted to tell you that I am cancer free and the scans last week came all back negative, Praise God!" Honestly I teared up and we both hugged and he went on his way.

Today I felt very honored that all he wanted to do is share with me his good news that life, essentially, is going to last a little bit longer. We all know life is not guaranteed but when you get the clean bill of health of cancer, there is a relief there that one doesn't understand until you get it yourself. Today though, I will celebrate that relief with this customer, my friend!

We have Bodacious, Kandy, Peaches and Cream , and Silver Queen Corn in stock. All corn will be $30/lb.

Also next week we will be getting in Seed Potatoes. The types are as follow;
Yukon Gold
Kennebec
Red Pontiac
As far as pricing for potatoes i won’t know the exact cost but it’s looking like anywhere from $0.69-$0.79 a pound. Your cost last year was $0.79.

Green Beans we will be carrying three main kind
Blue Lake Bush
Top Crop
White Half Runner
All $7.99/lb

As always, We try to keep costs down but seems seed prices are not coming down ESP corn. Corn Prices look like they are 20% higher than last year.

By this time next week we will DEFINITELY be selling Dogwood Farm frozen chicken. Hopefully soon after that, we will be also adding another vendor who you all probably know because i post about how good the meat is to our repertoire!

Locally raised and locally grown meat. What a lot of the customers here have been asking for.
