Open Arms Ferret Sanctuary

Open Arms Ferret Sanctuary I’m just a person with a lot of time and a LOT of love for ferrets in need of forever homes for whatever reason.

I have 17 years experience and 4 years experience with special needs and senior ferrets.

Welcome this pretty girl to the rescue. A couple is staying at a hotel and she walked into their room. She looks to be about a year old. She's beautiful with a white chin, toes and knees! She's a little thin and dehydrated, though healthy overall. She's super clingy, which means she got really scared at some point.

The couple is down on their luck, so I gave them $50 for her. They knocked on all the doors to ask if she belongs to someone and reported it to the front desk. If you'd care to donate toward that $50, you can send money via CashApp $kmferret, VenMo -Whorley (0070), Zelle or Paypal to [email protected], check to 4233 Zephyrhills Dr NW, Acworth GA 30101, or rescue vet 770-386-2362.

She needed a name. Thanks to Autumn Lanew for the suggestion of the name Echo for this girl. For some reason, it just seems to fit her. For having her suggested name chosen, she donated $110 toward Echo's care!

Pest control companies seeking your business may be quick to exaggerate— or even totally fabricate— the damage that chipmunks can cause. Please don’t be in a rush to harm these little guys!

Eastern chipmunk burrows have tiny entrances only about the size of a quarter, so unless your lawn is so neat and tidy that it could pass for AstroTurf, these holes aren’t likely to even be noticeable. Chipmunks do not chew wood or cause damage to trees or homes, although they may occasionally nibble the berries or flowers off ornamental plants.

Although any mammal can carry fleas and ticks (and the diseases they transmit) chipmunks themselves aren’t considered to be at a high risk for any disease affecting cats, dogs, or humans, so there’s no need to eliminate your resident chippies for anyone’s safety.

Please let your chipmunk neighbors stay in their home! But, if you absolutely must evict a chipmunk family, please seek humane ways to repel and exclude them rather than rushing to the exterminator.

Currently ferret-less but considering adopting? We have a lovely pair of 1 year olds, Milo & Mia, seeking a home. They are GREAT with humans; but have an unhappy way of beating up other FERRETS. They'd be best in a home of their own. They must be adopted together.
BEFORE CONTACTING OR MESSAGING US: Please complete the adoption application on our website. It's only 1 page! But we have no way to assess your suitability as a home for Milo & Mia without application information.

Welcome Mort and Lily to the rescue! They are two years old and healthy. The teen went to college and the parents can't care for the ferrets (very common reason for surrender). They've been in the guest bathroom. This evening I removed the gate from there so they could explore the hall. Nicholas was asleep in the hall and I missed him. Mort was trying to destroy him! Nicholas is an alpha ferret and about twice the size of Mort, but he was definitely on the losing end. (Nicholas is fine.) Mort and Lily will be for adoption together and as soon as possible. I obviously won't be able to mix them with the other ferrets!

Welcome owner surrender Cookie is a male, the light colored one, the dark table one is Roxy. Unfortunately the young man that owned them is moving back to New Mexico and his mother will not allow him to have ferrets in her house. Please NO negative comments he did the right thing by calling me. They are 1 years old.

Welcome Buddy to the rescue. He's five years old. He's such a sweet boy. He asks to be picked up and he gives kisses! He has adrenal disease. The rescue will provide treatment for his adrenal disease for the rest of his life.
