Today we picked up 4 kittens that are just a few days old. Sadly, their mother was hit by a car. We reached out to Colonial Capital Humane Society & within a few hours, they picked them up and placed them with a nursing “mom”. Thank you to Craven-Pamlico Animal Services & CCHS for working together to save these babies!

We have a treat thief in the office today! Kai is here today and helping herself to all the treats and love!

UPDATE: Foster found! Now we fundraise for surgery. ❤️❤️❤️

If you’ve ever thought of fostering a medical case now is the time. This boy and his starving sister were left in a dirty crate at Lenoir County shelter (Abandoned in the parking lot). The female found rescue but the boy did not. The condition of his eyes is treatable. It’s a surgical procedure followed by eyedrops while they heal. We pay for all medical costs and your responsibility would be to provide the transport to and from the vet and provide follow up care. Must live close to Craven or Carteret county to be able to transport to vet appointments. He is dog, social, and very sweet and just needs a chance.
ďżźTheir Shelter is full and it is a desperate situation. Our foster homes are currently full and without a good foster we sadly are unable to help.

3 years ago we found Indy❤️ We will always be humbled by the support of our community & the kindness you show us!!

Hard to believe that 3 years have passed since we found Beau; emaciated & unable to walk. We are so thankful for the Dog Farm for showing him the love that he deserves! Happy “gotcha” day sweet boy!

♥️ THREE YEARS ♥️
Beauregard,
You are like no other. People around the world have prayed for you and because you were a fighter and a survivor, new friendships and connections have formed and more dogs have been saved.
You are the face of RESCUE & REHABILITATION in Eastern North Carolina.
You, and others like you, are why we keep going when, at times, we just want to close the doors and shut off the phones.
Beau, you are loved by people around the world and you give people hope every day.
May you always be a reminder of the good work that the Craven County Sheriff's Office - Animal Protective Services, Craven Animal Hospital and Colonial Capital Humane Society do, with a special shout out to SARA RODGERS (who I cannot tag, so y’all let her know)! ♥️

Thought we would try something new and post a ”dog of the week”. We aren’t late, we are early for next week😉

Elliot came to Craven Pamlico Craven-Pamlico Animal Services as a stray. He’s about 4-5 months old, so still a baby. Does great on a harness. To meet Elliot, please visit CPASC at 1639 Old Airport Rd in New Bern. Please share and help us find this guy the perfect home!

Wild parents can’t hire a babysitter and it is normal for many species to leave their young unattended for long periods. Never assume young wildlife has been abandoned or orphaned just because you don’t see a parent nearby.

If your instinct is to stand guard until its parent returns, be aware that wild animals will avoid approaching if a potential predator (i.e., you!) is nearby, to avoid drawing attention to their young. Often the best way to help young wildlife is to leave them alone so their parents can return and care for them.

Kai wanted to give everyone an update; first, her eyes aren’t sad…she couldn’t have breakfast and she wanted to sit in foster Mom’s lap so she was being sassy🤣
Second; Dr Bird and his team have her on some new medications and they will see her again next week. We are incredibly thankful for their dedication to towards her care! We are also incredibly thankful that they continue to tolerate us intruding in their office! 🤣

NATIONAL ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER APPRECIATION WEEK

National Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week is celebrated every second full week of April. The week is designed to thank and show appreciation to all the animal control officers who are dedicated to helping pets and people in the community every day.

Officers seek justice in cases of abused, neglected, and abandoned animals; they conduct humane investigations and bring in helpless animals. They protect animals from abusers and people from dangerous animals.

We found “River” a few weeks ago with a pr*****ed uterus. Many of you donated to Friends of Craven County Sheriff's Office so we could have her treated. She is now available for adoption!

Please visit Craven Pamlico Craven-Pamlico Animal Services to meet her!

River is a 3 year old Pitbull mix. She came to us as a stray running around Vanceboro. Animal control actually brought her in didn't want to leave her like tha
