Jujube harvest time is here. We eat them in the “Apple” stage because it’s too hot here to let them fully mature. They taste a little “wild” - like a crab apple. I love snacking on them! We have a bowl of them in the Farmstand - come on over and try some (free)

We have various lengths of barbed wire we saved from when we replaced some fencing. If anyone can use it (decor / crafting etc), let me know and we will put it at the Farmstand with your name on it. Just hate to throw it out.

Nostalgia Alert! Who remembers shelling field peas on the porch in the summer? We have them available at the Farmstand for 1 cent each - that’s right a penny a piece. Grab some and reminisce or give the kiddos an experience from the past. These are Purple Hull Peas.
Edit: because someone asked - a penny each works out to roughly 75 cents a pound. I decided to do “by each” because it allows someone to pick peas that are of similar maturity - once shelled they will cook more evenly)

Experimental batch of Cake Truffles. Made these with a little too much icing in the cake - and added Rice Krispies to compensate which didn’t yield the result I was looking for (though still tasty - they ended up just a little weird). Took $1 off due to the weird factor…. $3/box

As many know, we use no chemical pesticides or w**d control in our vegetable beds (not even organic like Neem etc). We try to encourage beneficial insects instead. Here are some of those “good guys in action. I’m not sure how I feel about the wasp eating the caterpillar (I generally have no problem sharing some of what I produce with future moths and butterflies) - but I’m fully behind the army of Lady Bugs going to war with the aphids that are attacking the Armenian cucumbers I have growing in one of the raised beds.
