Cotton Tails Rabbit Rescue, Inc.

We are a foster based rescue - we find loving homes for small animals in and around Rockland County, New York. Cotton Tails is a foster based rabbit rescue.

We take in rabbits from residents of Rockland County. We also assist area shelters by taking in their rabbits whenever possible. We provide medical care from our local small animal veterinarians. All of our rabbits are spayed/neutered prior to adoption, (when health permits). We are here to help educate the community on responsible pet ownership.

🎉 ADOPTED! 🎉

Peaches and Sugar joined us earlier last year, hopeful for a forever home.

They were previously adopted by a family who promised them love and care, but sadly, that promise wasn’t kept. Instead, they endured a poor diet, a small cage, and unclean living conditions—far from what they deserved.

Despite being incredibly sweet, their shyness and age (only around 5 years old) made it hard for us to find new adopters. But during their time in foster, something beautiful happened: Peaches and Sugar formed an unbreakable bond with their foster family.

As Christmas approached, their foster mom realized something—she couldn’t imagine life without them. They were already home! ❤️

When we asked, “What was the moment you knew?” she smiled and said, “When I realized they had their own photo album on my phone.” 😂

We love alumni updates! 🐰💖

Reggie was adopted back in July. We rescued Reggie from a shelter where he wasn’t getting any interest and placed him in a foster-to-adopt home. It didn’t take long for Reggie and his new family to fall in love!

Reggie’s family shared these adorable pictures and told us, “We are obsessed! Thank you for the best gift of 2024.”

This is the happy ending we dream of for every bunny! 🥰

Happy New Year! Please help us make a wish come true this year!

As we step into this new year, our biggest wish is for Sonia to find her forever home. Sonia is one of the five NJ bunnies we took in last March after being abandoned in a junkyard. Sonia wouldn’t have survived without rescue.

Sonia is a gentle soul—sweet but shy. We have discovered that Sonia would do best with a bunny companion who can be her friend, her guide, and her comfort. With a buddy by her side, Sonia can truly blossom into her best self.

Do you remember our sweet girl, Belle?

She was surrendered to us unexpectedly when her previous owner urgently needed to rehome her. Now, Belle has been adopted and found the most amazing forever home!

Her new family says, “Belle has been such a beautiful, smart and good girl. She loves cuddling and begging for pets… and treats. We are so fortunate to rescue her after losing or previous lionhead after 10 years. Her sweet and inquisitive nature is helping make herself right at home.”

Meet London, our newest Cotton Tails rabbit.

She came from a deeply loving home, and her surrender truly broke our hearts. London was the light of her family’s life, but when their first child was born, everything changed. As their child grew, so did severe allergies, leading to frequent emergency room visits.

We spoke to the family at length, they made the difficult decision to let her go, trusting us to find London a home as full of love as the one she left behind. 💕

London’s foster mom says “She's so sweet, and loves to be around people. She definitely wants to be where the people are (to quote The Little Mermaid..lol). She's curious and inquisitive, checking things out and exploring. She's a smarty pants too! We coaxed her once to jump up on the couch and then she was just able to do it. She's learned how to maneuver her pellet ball and where to find treats that we hide. She's a good eater, she's loved all the greens we've given her. She's calm and would definitely do well around people she's comfortable with or bonded with the right bunny.”

Cooper vs. Cilantro: Who Will Win?! Cilantro made a daring move and got stuck on Cooper’s tooth, slowing down his crönch time. But Cooper wasn’t about to let a little leaf get the best of him—he powered through with a final and victorious crönch!!

Look at Cooper, soaking up some love! When Cooper first came to us, he was so wary of people—so much so that he was incredibly selective about who he’d let near him. As for being touched? That was completely off the table! But look at him now. If you watch closely, you can see him purr and sink into the pets, his eyes softening as he relaxes. He’s truly enjoying every moment of love!

Binky Monday!� Look at how far Cooper and Bethanny have come! These two arrived shy and shut down, wanting nothing to do with humans. Now, they’re thriving—showing off their binkies and enjoying being social. Cooper is even starting to love being petted! Through no fault of his own—Ringo, one of our Cotton Tails alumni, is sadly being surrendered back to us due to his family's unexpected health issues. He’s a sweet boy with a dash of spice and lots of love to give. We want to make Ringo's transition as smooth as possible, and we need your help to do that.
