We are so very excited !
It's Good Friday. Whether you are religious or not there is a message in the coming days about resurrection.
Dictionary Definitions
res·ur·rec·tion/ˌrezəˈrekSH(ə)n
noun
the action or fact of resurrecting or being resurrected.
restoration to life, rising from the dead
I write this page in an effort to restore horsemanship, the kind that used to protect horses from abuse. In doing so I get a lot of pushback. When I post about how riding has become dangerous because style has replace effectiveness in jumping, for example, Show Jumpers, Hunters and Eventrers oppose the thoughts in my posts with comments like "Things have changed", "You're just trying to get attention", "There is no position that is safe to jump a horse" and other comments meant to invalidate the fact that not so long ago military riders perfected defensive riding in order to carry out military missions. Many disciplines want to ignore the facts.
While discipline centered people defend their isolated ideas of horsemanship, there is a group working on launching the American Horse Society in order to give a voice to the majority of riders and horse owners who are the foundation of the horse world. Meanwhile, the people at the top, the FEI, the USEF and the rest like them are not protecting horses, not educating people new to the horse world and not demonstrating real care and empathy for horses.
The AHS is taking on this challenge. I wish we could launch on Sunday because it would be fitting to resurrect horse centered horsemanship this then.
We are getting close. Things are starting to come together. Government approvals are arriving, tech for management and communication platforms are under construction, the light at the end of the tunnel is clear. It won't be much longer.
