We are a 501C3 Charity located in Orange County California. Our focus is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home dogs that have been neglected, abandoned or are at risk for euthanasia. We are an all breed, foster based rescue organization.

SPICE SWEETIES

Clover, Pepper & Cinnamon are pups from Sweetie Spice. They were born in the Devore shelter and were rescued shortly afterwards. Pups are still growing, but we are guessing the will be in the medium breed range when full grown.

Their mama Sweetie has an amazing temperament and is already spoken for. We think the mix could be lab/shepherd maybe some Husky or Dobie mixed in there.

They will be ready to join their homes on September 10, 2024. We are now taking applications for these three girls. Apply at www.lovebugsrescue.org They are being fostered in Newport Beach, CA.

KUMO

Kumo is a sweet happy boy who was rescued from the Apple Valley Shelter when he landed on the euthanasia list for space. Thankfully a good samaritan rescued him and he's now a Lovebug!

Kumo has a wonderful personality and has never met a dog he doesn't like. He is equally friendly with kitty cats too! Kimo is well mannered around his foster home and loves his crate and chasing lizards in the garden.

He has a joyful spirit and loves playing with his bounty of toys. Kumo loves going for adventures and walks well on leash. Kumo is a great size at just 30 lbs and is young at 2 years old. We think a he looks like a Shepherd/Manchester Terrier cross. He's going to make a wonderful addition to a very lucky family. Could that be you?

JAX

Shelter life was no match for this cutie pie, so we scooped Jax to safety. He’s now tucked away in one of our awesome foster homes.

Jax is just a puppy and loves playing with his toys and working on his brain games. He is a sweet natured boy who is a little bit shy initially. He’s very curious and will come up to sniff and investigate.

Jax is a fun little co-pilot and rides will in the car and he enjoys going on small adventures. He’s relatively quiet and well mannered in the home. He is interested in other dogs on leash and greets them nicely. We think he would love to have another dog in his forever home.

Jax is a 6 month old, 6 lb Chihuahua mix (maybe some Basenji or Min pin splashed in there). The best type of home for Jax would be one with a little less coming and going, and a secure environment with an owner that has time to do a little confidence building with him. ♥️🐾 Sweet little Archer found himself as an orphaned puppy when his former owner no longer wanted him. A Good Samaritan connected with us, and he’s now a Lovebug. Archer is a 6 week old Pitbull mix puppy who is super sweet. We have no idea where his other littermates ended up, but we are sure glad we can guide him onto a better life. More info coming soon!

Just a quick update on our girl Suki ♥️🐾 Her incision from her leg amputation at the shelter was just a big mess. She had another surgery yesterday to correct the incision. Thank you for getting her in so quickly!

Suki is now on the road to recovery and is already loving life in her foster home. Thank you so very much for those who donated to help us out with her surgery. We greatly appreciate all of our supporters cheering this gal on from the sidelines.

TASHA

Girls just wanna have fun! Tasha is wrapping up mommy duties and is in search for a home of her own. She is a spunky 2 year old, 8 lb Maltipoo who could not be any more darling with her long locks and button eyes.

Tasha is friendly with new people she meets and good with kiddos too. She's a pro at playing fetch and isn't stingy about bringing the ball back. Tasha seems to prefer male dogs over females, or would be fine as a one and only in her home.

Her thick coat will require regular grooming and upkeep as it continues to grow back in. Tasha is sure to be a loyal and loving gal pal for years to come. Apply to meet Tasha at: www.lovebugsrescue.org

Elvis is back on all fours after his luxating patella surgery. But the best news ever is an awesome family fell in love with him and drove all the way from Klamath Falls, Oregon to adopt this sweetie pie. Here he is on his new beautiful ranch where he has many other furry friends to hang out with!

It was a great day for two tripod gals at the Palmdale Shelter. Both Suki and Jenny were rescued today! Suki is now with Lovebugs Rescue and Jenny is safe with Orange County Pit Bull Rescue who also graciously did their transport. 💖🐾

Suki was turned into the shelter on 7/23/24 as an owner surrender. She arrived injured with an old wrap on her right front leg. She was very thin and non weight bearing on that leg. She came with icky skin and crusty scabs all over. She was pretty nervous and stressed out during her intake exam.

The next days followed were no walk in the park either. She went under for two surgeries while at the shelter, one for her leg amputation and one for her spay. After all of the poking and prodding, she found comfort in the medical ward and became a staff favorite. She also made friends with another injured dog named Jenny who also needed leg amputation and the two girls could be found snuggling together.

However, this story was about to come to a horrible ending with these girls facing euthanasia if not rescued quickly. We received a message from Christine with OCPBR asking if we would consider taking Suki. This was how we first learned about her, and obviously her story touched us to the core. We have some very compassionate fosters who really want to help the underdog, and thankfully one of them said YES!

Suki arrived to foster today and she couldn't be any more sweet. Right away we discovered her incision was gapping open and oozing. We were lucky to get a vet appt within a few hours of her arrival, and it was confirmed that she will need surgery tomorrow to clean and close her incision back up. We are looking at a $1,000 surgery for Suki. If you have a few extra $$ and can help us out, we would greatly appreciate it!

ROAD HOUSE HOUNDS

Lasey’s Road House hounds were rescued from the Devore shelter where they were born. They were literally pulled off the euthanasia list for space!

These puppies take after their mama in the good looks department. They are super sweet and are loving life in their foster home. They will be ready to join their homes the weekend of 8/24/24. We are now starting the pre-adoption process on this group.

Names are Dalton, Wade, Wesley, Tinker, Carrie Anne & Elizabeth. Mom Lasey is a 40 lb Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix with the sweetest disposition. Pups will mature in the medium breed range when full grown.

PRISCILLA

This spunky playful socialite loves everyone she meets. Priscilla is a 5 year old 17 lb Frenchton who is looking for a new home to call her own. She gets along great with other dogs and cats too!

Priscilla needs to gain some weight, she came to us very skinny weighing just 13 lbs, but she is gaining weight day by day. Priscilla just had entropion surgery in her left eye and we expect it to be back to normal in no time.

PIERRE

Sweet Pierre was found at the shelter without an owner in sight. We have no idea who let this handsome brindle baby go, but we are sure glad he’s now a Lovebug!

Pierre is a 2 year old, 36 lb Staffie mixed with something smaller. Maybe a Frenchie, Boston or Cattle Dog, because he has two little perky ears. Pierre is sociable and loves everyone he meets.

He spends his days romping with his fur foster sister Norma, or snuggle in a cozy bed. Pierre has been well mannered around the house and walks nicely on leash. He would enjoy going for daily walks and an occasional adventure or two. He's going to make the perfect addition to a very lucky family. Could that be you?

Lasey's pups just turned 6 weeks old and are available for pre-adoption. Mama Lasey is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix weighing about 40 lbs. We are guessing her pups should be similar in weight.
