Hello! I just wanted to tell you guys about the two new rabbits that I got yesterday. Yep, I’ve decided to raise rabbits again, mostly for meat, but some of them will be available. Anyway, meet my New Zealand rabbits! I haven’t decided on any names yet, but I have some leads. I have a blue New Zealand doe, and a broken black doe.

Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve posted. It’s been crazy lately, and something has to give. Woods & Meadows Rabbitry is going out of business. I haven’t posted anything for a long time, because posting it would mean it’s actually happening. I just can’t handle a part time job that doesn’t pay, even if I love it. So I’m going to be getting rid of all the rabbits, cages etc. I don’t have pictures of all of them yet but here is the first batch. I’m rather attached to these guys, because they’re super friendly, and since these are the last litters Woods & Meadows Rabbitry will ever have, I want them to go to people who will use them to their fullest potential.

All jr.s, full pedigrees, great lines. My loss is your gain. Forgive molting coats. Pm, for more info, or pictures. Some are from Teresa Seiber from Ohio, great line. I’m very happy to announce our winnings at the berrien county youth fair. I’m very pleased that our market rabbits made weight in time, despite circumstances. Very proud, because Rex are a meat breed, even with all the major commercial naysayers. We have some promising grow outs, and of course Twister placed.

Twister, won 1st place out of the junior does.

Our pen of two market rabbits got an A and will be going to the auction!

Our doe and litter this year was Roxie and her two kits, plus FC’s kits that we fostered to her. They also got an A.

Here are some pictures of Amber’s litter. They will be ready to go to their new homes on July 30th! Can’t believe how fast these babies have grown up. These beauties are the right age to go to the berrien county youth fair as market rabbits. They come with pedigrees. Six are spoken for, but three are still available!

Hey y’all, sorry it’s been awhile since I’ve posted, life has been crazy. So I need to announce that another litter has been born, they are now around three weeks old. But unfortunately we have to cull their mother, Funnel Cloud. Because she fractured her leg, and is in pain. Thankfully Roxie has accepted the kits as her own. Love that doe, worth her weight in gold. Supper excited to see how these kits turn out. We have three harlequins, and a tricolor (not sure if he has enough color to him, he might be a Charlie). Oh and Roxie (my blue doe) had her litter today! A litter of two. Making this litter the smallest litter in Woods & Meadows history. Here is a picture of the proud mother, and her kits. One is a castor, and one is a black otter.

Pepper’s litter, almost three weeks old. Really excited about the colors in this litter! I got a broken amber, two broken chocolates, two colors I’ve never gotten before! Definitely going to be pairing Broken Castor, and Black Otter again!

I spent a straight hour in the Rabbitry taking pictures, because I had to take a picture every time a bunny was cute. Long story short I took over 69 pictures. Prepare yourselves for cuteness overload. (I’ll only share the favorites). These are of the breeding & show stock.

A little about us.

Although we now work with New Zealand rabbits, we started out with a harlequin Rex buck named Woods, and a tricolor Rex doe named Meadows. To honor the first two rabbits, we named the Rabbitry after them. We decided right off the bat that quality is more important than quantity. So we focus on Breeding the best rabbits that we could. We put show stock, and brood stock up for availability. We are located near Niles, Michigan.

I have two does that are due in a few days! My Blue doe, Roxie, and my harlequin doe, FC (Funnel Cloud)! Super excited, I’m expecting some tricolors, harlequins, and some castors! Today I put in the nest boxes, I will keep you guys posted!

Here are some pictures of Pepper’s litter when they were a week old. I’ve got Castor, Broken Black, Black Otter, Chocolate Otter, Broken Castor, and some form of Amber in this litter. I can’t wait to find out how many are does, and how many are bucks. Super excited to see how they will develop!
