We are still soaking in the energy that was created during our gathering yesterday, and have so much to process. Grateful for each of your presence, input, gifts and voices, and the cleansing rain that seemed to tie it all together for fresh co-creation.

Some of you will have noticed Ayesha tapping away at her keyboard during the afternoon conversation and feedback session. Here is the word cloud that came out of most of that conversation.

Thank you for sharing yourself yesterday. Stay tuned for more coming from Farmscape Solutions soon, including a post-meeting summary and networking tools.

This week we bring you Dr. Rasika Ramesh, co-creator of Rising Gardens Market, and purveyor of shared meals and vibrant community gatherings. Rasika is our Project Coordinator at Farmscape Solutions. Her extensive background in wetlands and natural resource ecology, combined with her love of frogs and children make for a wonderful experience at the seasonal community Markets. The rumor is there was "a bit of weather" 😉 AND regardless of optimum conditions, we had SUCH a great turnout at the August 2024 Rising Gardens LLC. Community Market!

Over 20 vendors of all ages with fruits, vegetables, herbs, candy, fruit, savory treats, juices, teas, jewelry, candles and music... we even got started on a cooking demo as the storm rolled in! We got to see old friends and meet new ones, there was much conversation, laughter and connections made. When the storm came in, we got to all help each other pack up and (safely) enjoy the rain, together.

Never a bad market day ☺️ We can't wait to see you again on September 28 at the same location!

Mark your calendars now, and stay tuned!

Why we do what we do.

We are humbled to witness the successes of Alabama farmers Carol and Greg Lolley of Mayim Farm, where they grow, promote, and educate others about the benefits of medicinal plants and clean, organic farming.

Initially, the Lolleys started out growing vegetables for farmers' markets. Their path took an exciting turn when Jayme Oates, director of Farmscape Solutions, introduced them to resources through medicinal plant trials at Auburn University, where the Lolleys identified Turmeric and Moringa as their most impactful products. The Lolleys were also introduced to educational outreach programs like “Operation Grow” for veterans.

Today, Mayim Farm thrives selling products online and educating the local community about medicinal plants. The Lolleys continue to innovate, create beneficial teas and extracts, and expand their mission of sustainable farming and education. Visit Mayim Farm’s page for more at https://www.facebook.com/mayimfarm.

We're honored to have played a small part in their inspiring journey. Follow us to see how Farmscape Solutions can help you grow.

Happy Juneteenth!

Today, we honor and celebrate the resilience, strength, and heritage of Black communities across the nation. Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the United States, but it also serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight for true freedom, justice, and equality for all.

At Farmscape Solutions, we stand in solidarity with our Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) community members. We recognize the importance of uplifting and amplifying Black voices, supporting Black-led initiatives, and dismantling systemic barriers to create a more equitable society for all.

On this day and every day, let us recommit ourselves to the work of anti-racism, advocacy, and empowerment. Together, we can strive for a future where every individual is truly free to thrive and live without fear of discrimination or injustice.

Over the weekend, our Director, Jayme Oates, represented Farmscape Solutions at Kids’ Day on The River, hosted by Friends of The Locust Fork River (https://www.friendsofthelocustforkriver.org). Jayme led the kiddos in learning about consumption, titled “How much water do you use?”

Through hands on activities at the river, the children had the opportunity to not only learn about historical shifts in human water usage, but deepen their appreciation for water and the river as precious resources. They reflected on ways to do their part as mindful consumers going forward.

Kids’ Day on The River is a recurring, family-friendly event tailored for children aged 5-12. Led by adult volunteers known as "shepherds," the kids rotate through various activity stations, each offering opportunities for experiential learning and active engagement with nature. From exploring river life to creating art amidst nature's backdrop and learning kayak safety, the event aims to instill a love for nature and environmental stewardship from a young age. 🌿🚣‍♂️
