This past weekend, Farmscape Solutions Director Jayme Oates had the privilege of speaking at the Anthroposophy Atlanta meeting. Jayme's talk elaborated on the influences of the Michaelmas season in the biodynamic garden.

Traditionally celebrated around September 29th, the Michaelmas season plays a significant role in biodynamic gardening due to its alignment with the natural rhythms of the earth. Biodynamic gardening, which views the farm or garden as a living organism, incorporates seasonal and cosmic cycles into planting and harvesting practices.

The Michaelmas season marks transition from Summer to Fall, a time of waning daylight and cooling temperatures. In biodynamic traditions, this period is often associated with the earth beginning to breathe inward, a metaphor for the shift in energy from the expansive growth of summer to the more introspective, root-focused phase of the fall and winter months.

We had an engaging gathering getting to know each other, learning about possibilities, needs and abundance, and ways to co-create. The food, music and opportunities to move to the beat were incredible treats in an inaugural Collective Roots for A Thriving Community meeting for the books! 🌿👩‍🌾💃🏾🎶

We are still soaking in the energy that was created during our gathering yesterday, and have so much to process. Grateful for each of your presence, input, gifts and voices, and the cleansing rain that seemed to tie it all together for fresh co-creation.

Some of you will have noticed Ayesha tapping away at her keyboard during the afternoon conversation and feedback session. Here is the word cloud that came out of most of that conversation.

Thank you for sharing yourself yesterday. Stay tuned for more coming from Farmscape Solutions soon, including a post-meeting summary and networking tools.

The rumor is there was "a bit of weather" 😉 AND regardless of optimum conditions, we had SUCH a great turnout at the August 2024 Rising Gardens LLC. Community Market!

Over 20 vendors of all ages with fruits, vegetables, herbs, candy, fruit, savory treats, juices, teas, jewelry, candles and music... we even got started on a cooking demo as the storm rolled in! We got to see old friends and meet new ones, there was much conversation, laughter and connections made. When the storm came in, we got to all help each other pack up and (safely) enjoy the rain, together.

Never a bad market day ☺️ We can't wait to see you again on September 28 at the same location!

Mark your calendars now, and stay tuned!
