Volunteers are what keeps the shelter functioning. This is a fact in rescue but it is especially true with our little ALL volunteer shelter. This year has been very hard on the dedicated volunteers who show up mostly everyday.

You ask why is it so hard? Day in and day out the same small group (we are talking 4 or 5) dedicated volunteers are working to keep the shelter functioning 7 days a week 365 per year. There is no day off, they don’t take vacations and they witness death and preventable sickness everyday to helpless unwanted dogs and cats. It wears on you physically and emotionally! They NEED YOU to step up and give them some assistance!

What kind of assistance? Give a few hours to cleaning cages, washing dishes, washing, drying and folding laundry, feeding dogs, folding newspapers for kennels. It’s not glamorous it’s not clean work but the animals didn’t ask to live in a shelter or even be born.
They are helpless and vulnerable. We desperately need help for the tired overworked SMALL group of volunteers! Please look into your heart ❤️ and commit to give time to support the shelter and

Asta, formerly Aashi, has successfully been placed in her forever home today. Originally found as a stray in Olney several weeks ago, she remained unclaimed by her previous owner. Additionally, Asta has a close friend named Diego, who was adopted from our organization a year ago.

The journey in providing rescued animals a Safe Spot and Forever Homes

Our founder, Shelley Brinkley has evolved from a young girl rescuing animals, to a Local Grassroots Animal Rescue Advocate. Shelley’s spirit encompasses her childhood dream: rescuing and saving every animal as possible. “They deserve a life of comfort, compassion, and companionship”. Don’t we all?!

Her journey has led her to assisting in searching missing animals, rescued animals on her own, assisted in the adoption process of other rescues, shelters, and personally taken a stand in the community by housing neglected, abused, and/or owner relinquished animals into her own home.

With nearly a decade in pursuing the dream, her trailblazing spirit and action, combined with honest ambition, CLAWS AND PAWS RESALE in Olney, IL opened in 2019, thus began the “Safe Spot for All Paws” Campaign. The goal continues to provide this safe spot and thus placing these beautiful animals in a “Forever Home”. Later in 2019, the animals that Shelley continually rescues were blessed with the Grand Opening of the Animal Rescue Center located at the CLAWS AND PAWS RESALE shop.

Donations and volunteers alike continue in building and sustaining its mission...
