“Ya Think You Know” series…

Please meet Sherri and Chewbacca aka ‘Chewy’… You can’t have a veiled chameleon without an outtake 🤣

Question 1: How did you get into chameleons?
Response: I have always been a huge reptile lover! To me, caring for a chameleon seemed like a relaxing and rewarding hobby given their quiet, calm, and beautiful nature. It turns out, it really is!

Question 2: How many chameleons do you currently have? Species, age(s), name(s), etc.
Response: I currently have one Veiled chameleon, Chewbacca aka ‘Chewy’, who is almost two years old. I don’t currently have room for another large enclosure, but I would get another Veiled if I did! I just love their little green attitudes.

Question 3: What is your favorite chameleon feature and why (i.e. eyes, mitts, etc)?
Response: I am fascinated by the gold ring in their eyes! I also love how his eyelids look like watermelons.

Question 4: What is your chameleon’s favorite food?
Response: Chewy will run across a branch for a hornworm. He really enjoys his silkworms and silkmoths, too! As his main staple, he loves black soldier flies, and I also prefer them since they don’t smell, bite Chewy, or run away from me (like crickets). He hates Dubia roaches!

Question 5: What is one piece of advice that you’d give other chameleon owners?
Response: Make sure your enclosure plants are chameleon safe! Even if you swear they never bite the leaves, you may find a tiny v-shaped chomp missing from them one day!

Question 1: How did you get into chameleons?
Response: I randomly came across a video of a chameleon birth. I thought the babies were so cute. I immediately started researching!

Question 2: How many chameleons do you currently have?
Response: Currently, only 1. A 3 year old female Trioceros Melleri (Mellers) named Bowser.

Question 3: What is your favorite chameleon feature?
Response: The perfect tail curl. It's almost art.

Question 4: What is your chameleon's favorite food?
Response: Homegirl is NOT picky. She destroys everything in her path!

Question 5: What is one piece of advice that you'd give other chameleon owners?
Response: Always stay receptive to new information. It's a hobby where you can always learn new things to improve husbandry.

If you'd like to be featured in our series, please DM us! We'd love to showcase you!
