📢 Important Update for Florida Veterinarians📢

Governor DeSantis recently signed SB 382 into law, changing continuing education (CE) requirements for DVMs.

Starting July 1, veterinarians licensed for 10+ years without disciplinary actions will be exempt from current CE requirements. However, the FVMA advises veterinarians to continue fulfilling their current CE requirements as amendments are expected to pass and take effect by July 2025, reverting this change.

Dr. Ronald W. Stone celebrated his 45th year as a DVM in April! Dr. Stone has published over 150 professional articles and lectured internationally throughout his career. He has served as National Executive Secretary for the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, the American Canine Sports Medicine Association (co-founder), and the American Association of Pet Industry Veterinarians (co-founder). Dr. Stone is also a past president of SFVMA and the Lake County VMA and a member of the FVMA Honor Roll. Thank you Dr. Stone for all your hard work!

This week is Puppy Mill Action Week; let's come together to end animal cruelty. 🚫🐶

FVMA's marketing and communications manager, Nicole Alvarez, adopted her Siberian Husky, Saber, after he was rescued from a puppy mill and placed for adoption by Barking Out Loud Rescue, Inc. Nicole took him in because she could tell he was a sweet dog that just needed a safe place to flourish. He is a happy pup who loves stuffed toys, rubber balls, and a family that lets him have his own safe space.

Say no to puppy mills and yes to a kinder world and adopt! ❤️
