We admit it. It is not easy to do what we do. Long days/hours. Seemingly thankless duties. So many lives depending on us. Currently
9 in the dog pack
3 foster dogs (1 from homeless shelter, 2 from DV situation)
2 horses
2 bunnies
Multiple: Chickens, ducks and 1 goose.
Cats. Farm cats and housecats.
And today we received a check for $259 from the fundraising efforts of our friends and social media. We can always use it, but right now, it also offers some appreciation for the long days and hard work.
So, thank you. All of you. For the donations. For thinking of us. We just want to take care of these animals. We just want to offer some love to this

Can we talk about Sugar? She really is the sweetest dog. Cyndi swaddles her and snuggles her everyday. She doesn't have much time left with us, but we will make every day count!

We are helping our furry friends as much as we can on a daily basis, but we could use some help. We love rescuing these animals, especially our geriatric and terminally ill dogs, but our mission is to give them exceptional care. To do this we need to add fencing & a separate kennel facility on our acres. We need to receive more training so we can further help these animals and more animals in the future. Starr Crossed Acres Rescue, Inc has been established to shelter and care for domesticated animals, especially geriatric & other special needs pets.
The specific objectives and purpose of this organization shall be:

to provide exceptional care & accommodations to geriatric and special needs (hard to place, homeless, behavioral issues, disabled, abused, etc) animals so that they may have an excellent quality of life.

to provide medical care for the animals through local veterinarians, and to provide training and rehabilitation to troubled and disabled animals utilizing certified trainers.

Meet Jenna! She is our newest foster dog from our friends at The Welcome House. We get to have her in our pack while her owner finds more permanent housing.
Jenna had her trip to the veterinarian's office today for a check up. She is an older dog. She can't see or hear very well and has a heart murmur. Otherwise she is healthy and was very well behaved. She is a good girl, and she misses her owner but she is blending into our pack well. 🩵💖💝

Her cancer has definitely progressed & even though her days are limited she goes out of her way to jump up from her nap & greet you with a wagging tail! She is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever cared for. We love you, Sugar.
