These 2 beautiful GSD mixes were within an hour of being killed yesterday!!! It’s a litter of seven and the others found rescue. There’s something called black dog syndrome and it’s so untrue and unfair.

***UPDATE****our senior chihuahua, Baby, was surrendered after her owner passed - has been adopted!!! I was surprised at the number of people interested in her, but she’s so deserving 🥰🥰 congrats to Anita and her pack and so happy things worked out! !

Good morning all. I received some sad news yesterday as someone who adopted from us 9 yrs. ago, passed away. The daughter has 4 large dogs of her own and is unable to keep her 😣. She’s housebroken when kept on a regular schedule, she’s good with other dogs and children. I commend this family for doing the right thing and contacting us. THIS is what makes hope pet rescue special. We will ALWAYS take on our dogs back / she’s about 12 yrs. Old (and chis can live to be 16-18) so we’d love to find her twilight home !!!! Plz share as much as you can - she must be so sad that her mom died - we MUST help her!!!!

We’re only at 15% of our $4,000 goal for our baby, Zenith, who contracted parvovirus. As you all know, we’re a very small rescue and don’t have the resources to cover extensive medical expenses, but we were NOT going to give up on this precious baby who was hospitalized for 5 days!!! Please give 🙏 any amount to help us with there bill…it’s only through our donors and supporters that we’re able to carry on our mission!!! Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Update on our Xmas pups!!! The girl was adopted!! Congrats to Mike and Jane, who coincidentally live 2 minutes from me lol - however, Zenith was diagnosed with parvovirus. It broke my heart to see him take such a turn so quickly with this insidious virus 😔😔 Unfortunately, I’m too familiar with the symptoms so I knew it was imperative to get him to the emergency vet - he was touch and go and spent 4 days in the hospital. I visited him and it broke my heart. VACCINES are important for a reason!!! however, pups and pounds are always at high risk - thank goodness he’s now been cleared to go home 🥰🥰🥰 we don’t tend to ask for donations, but the total cost for his treatment was 4,000!!!! If you can help, any amount is appreciated and donations are tax deductible!!! Additionally, the couple who adopted the girl, has decided to give him a home as well!!! I love a good ending!!! Meet Rayenne. She’s a 2.5 yr old GSD mix and her story is heartbreaking 💔 She had been abandoned by her previous owners and living in their backyard for months, surviving off wildlife and rainwater. Despite all this, she is a sweet, affection-seeking girl! She’s in a foster home with other dogs (for now she’s keeping to herself), but does fine with them and older kids. As she’s come out of her shell, it’s so gratifying to see her running around the backyard and having fun and learning that there are people that care about her! She’s housebroken, crate trained and hasn’t yet learned to play with toys. Didn’t take long for our latest rescue, Pepper, to fit in with her pack!!! Thx to Chris and his wife - HPR alumni and long time supporters!!!! This truly made my Mother’s Day!!! PS she’s the young black/tan one noone can keep up with 🤣
