Welcome to Horsepen Creek Farm.....we are located in the gently rolling hills of Southside Va. Our vision is to be up and running next spring bringing to the public fresh herbs grown in a natural environment! At this time we share our land with many four le
gged companions. The oldest matriarch of the herd is Charlotte at 16 years old! She still keeps up with her two daughters and the rest as they graze their lush pastures. Our horses consist of a rescued Appaloosa (Koda) who arrived pregnant....surprise! She gave us a wonderful, sweet filly we named KC ( after a beloved dog we had lost) KC is 2 1/2 now and we are working on getting her under saddle. And the queen (I will gladly share the title) Starr, she is a star all of her own being a 37 1/2 year young quarter horse! She has some arthritic issues and pretty blind but she still rules the roost. Are you getting the idea we run a geriatric barn :)
And what farm would not be complete without two lovable, overweight donkeys?! That would be our Andy and Lizzie (she was a rescue by my friend and business partner)
And of course the menagerie of dogs and cats .....which most were all rescued as well. I'm so excited for our new adventure and can't wait to share with you all the new and exciting happenings! Now we really need to keep the gates locked....I can just see the goats now ......loose and in the gardens. Might make for some interesting cheese.
