We know you’ve all been waiting for it, cause we’ve been waiting for it. It’s Furever Friday! So many great animals found their furever homes this past week and we are so excited for them and their families to begin their new journeys! Want to find your own furever match? Labor Day weekend is coming up, and you know what that means. Back to School! These pups have already had their class pictures taken and can’t wait to share them with you! This is the back to school litter all featuring names that take a twist on all of the subjects you’re either learning or learned! Hello there people of the internets! My name is Maddie and I’m a 4 month old lab mix! I’ve got some real interesting coloring, almost like a champagne, in some light my coat leans more sandy and other it leans more silver. Just let me stare into your eyes for a second and I’m sure you’ll fall in love with me. I totally enjoy playing with my doggy pals as well as with people and toys. I love going out and adventuring. Meet this absolutely silly girl Eleanor! When Eleanor isn’t in the yard playing she’s sure to be inside playing with toys. She loves to play and have fun all day long! She loves people and other dogs and would love to be a part of an active family!
She’s about 3 months old and estimated to be a black mouth cur mix. Come and meet this wonderful girl during open hours today!

This awesome boy Mack cannot wait to meet you tonight during open hours! This loving guy is about 5 months old and was rescued from Louisiana after being found tied to a pole 🥺. Hes a Doberman mix and currently weights about 35lbs. He’s a friendly and loving boy who loves attention and playing with other dogs! He’s would love a family to call his furever!

It might be a little late for breakfast but this sweet girl Shortstack can be loved all day long! She’s a little shy at first when meeting new people, but after some time she’s just the cuddliest and loving pup around. She’s fully grown and weights 24lbs! She gets along great with other dogs and people. Come and meet her now during open hours at our adoption center in Pawling!

Happy International Dog Day! We want to introduce you to one of our newest friends here at Happy Life. Meet Jerome, Jerome was unfortunate to land in a kill shelter down south with a planned euthanasia date of today, thankfully our friends were able to help get him out of the shelter and make his way to NY! He’s now scheduled to get neutered instead tomorrow and will be up to find his forever home this week! This boy is amazing, loves to play and wrestle with other dogs, great with people and kids. He just needs an active family to expend his energy.
Unfortunately for many dogs over crowding of shelters and euthanasia is still a reality. You can help dogs in need by adopting from rescues and shelters. Can’t adopt? There are so many other ways to help! Donate, foster, volunteer! These are all the great ways you can make a difference and help dogs like Jerome!

It’s furever Friday and boy is it a big one this week! After 8 months of searching our boy Roberto found his furever family! We want to wish Roberto, all the other animals, and the people that adopted them a Happy Life! We can’t wait to see who finds their furever home this weekend! We’ve got 2 events again this weekend! Do you remember Bagel the Beagle? This boy came our way back in January thanks to BISSELL Pet Foundation after being hit by a car landing him in a wheelchair due to a spine injury. To make matter worse he was diagnosed with heartworm and needed to go through heartworm treatment. Well we’ve got some exciting updates for him that we can’t wait to share! Have you had a chance to meet Phobe yet? This loving girl is about 6 months old and rescued from Texas! When she was originally picked up she was found with an injury to her front paw with some of her digits missing do, as well as damage to the external ear. Its not known what exactly happened to her. While her front paw may slow her physical speed down, it does not impede her when it comes to loving and playing. Her favorite spit is either on your lap or between your feet! She absolutely loves everyone she's met and gets along well with other dogs! Lets help this baby girl find her forever home! #adopt #rescue #adoptme #happylife

Here is a bagel update! This boy came in about 2 months ago thanks to @bissellpets @cathy_bissell . He was found with a back injury that paralyzed his legs along with heartworm. Originally he required a wheelchair to get around, but now hes flying around without the help of it. Hes got another month or two of heartworm treatments before he can be adopted but we couldn’t not share the amazing progress hes been making! We want to thank everyone for the support. Yesterday was Nicky’s first birthday! He had a wonderful time on his outings and so many volunteers stopped by to wish him a happy birthday and bring him wonderful treats! OUR STORY

Happy Life Animal Rescue (HLAR) is a nonprofit, foster-based, animal rescue organization. HLAR is located in Patterson, New York, and serves the Hudson Valley. We are dedicated to rescuing homeless animals who are victims of abuse & neglect, shelter overpopulation, and owner surrender. We are also committed to promoting local spay/neuter programs.

Ultimately, we hope to work with other rescues and humane organizations in finding forever homes for as many animals as possible. We rely solely on donations in order to continue to rescue and we receive no local or federal funding for our work.
