Take home Philly Phil
Philly Phil just wants to be everyone's pal and can't figure out why his future bestie hasn't come to meet him yet! This affectionate goofball is back at the shelter and seeking a foster (or hopefully an adopter!) as soon as possible.
Phil is full of love and puppy-like enthusiasm, and enjoys sweet couch snuggles and frat boy shenanigans in equal measure. He's feeling under the weather right now, and would be so happy to find a home while we work to get him feeling his best. He hasn’t let his circumstances get him down though, and is still maintaining his super sweet and spirited personality!
While he's estimated to be around 2-4 years old, Phil really is just a baby at heart, and will thrive in a dog-experienced home where he can get lots of snuggles and continue to work on his training. He'd especially benefit from a yard where he can get his sillies out, but his main priority is finding someone who sees him for the gem he is!
If you'd like to learn more about Phil, we'd love to tell you all about him! email [email protected] for more info on fostering, or read about adopting him here: https://phillypaws.org/adopt/animals-for-adoption/?20989017.

Faith is looking for a foster to help with her glow up!
Our new arrival Faith has quite the glow-up ahead of her – all she needs is a foster to help her get there!
This sweet 6 year old had been fending for herself outside before she was brought to the city shelter and rescued by PAWS, and it's clear she was having a hard go of it. Her fur has thinned, she's very underweight, and she's fighting an upper respiratory infection (aka a kitty cold). All Faith needs is some time and TLC to get back on her feet, and she'd love to recover at home with you!
This cutie is quite affectionate with people and has lots of small chirps and trills to share (although she'd prefer to be the only furry friend at home ). If you'd like to help Faith reach her fabulous full potential, email [email protected] to learn more about Faith today!
Foster a PAWS pet for the holidays!
Staying in town for the holidays? Spread some holiday cheer by fostering a four-legged friend who needs you! We have many animals urgently seeking foster homes at the shelter right now, and the holidays are an especially challenging time for our foster program.
Not only do we see a dip in foster sign-ups at the shelter due to the busy holiday season, but many of our current fosters find themselves in need of temporary sitters for their foster pets due to holiday travel plans. If you'll be staying local during the holiday season, we'd love to make you a foster match! You can help by:
❄️Committing to fostering a pet until they find their forever home (a few weeks to a few months) if you won't need a sitter during the holidays!
❄️OR, Pet sitting (usually for 3-7 days) for other PAWS foster parents who are traveling.

Poppi & Phoebe lost their home to a fire. Can you foster them?
After losing their home to a house fire, Poppi and Phoebe are looking for a Safety Net foster to ensure they don't lose their family as well.
We welcomed them to PAWS yesterday — still with soot on their fur — after their owner reached out to us for help. They love their companions very much, and the last thing they want is to permanently part with them during an already devastating time in their life. Can you welcome home this sweet brother and sister for a few months while their owner gets back on their feet?
Poppi and Phoebe are understandably quite shaken up, but still very gentle and loving. Our hope is to find them a foster as soon as possible so they can get back to enjoying the safety and comfort of home again.
If you'd like to be an actual hero and keep this family together, please email [email protected] to learn more about fostering Poppi and Phoebe!
THANK YOU from George and all of us at PAWS!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This week, we experienced a truly moving outpouring of support for Philadelphia's homeless and at-risk pets, which enabled us to meet our largest #GivingTuesday matching challenge ever.
We are thrilled to share that because of your support, we not only met our triple matching goal — we surpassed it by leaps and bounds! Thank you for rising to the occasion during our biggest matching challenge yet, helping us raise an astounding $169,000 — that’s over $319,000 with our match, all thanks to YOU!
We are more grateful than words can express. Thanks to you, Giving Tuesday brought tremendous hope and opportunity for the pets and people who rely on us. George here is one of them: this kind soul found safety at PAWS after he was abandoned on a porch and brought to the city shelter by a Good Samaritan. We can't know his past, but thanks to you, we can ensure he has a bright future!
These critical lifesaving funds will provide healing and happiness — both for the cats, dogs, and small animals in our care, and for the people who love them. Today, we celebrate progress toward our goal: making Philadelphia a place where every savable pet is guaranteed a home, and every pet owner has the resources they need to keep their families whole.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our work — and the precious bonds we create and protect — possible.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The entire PAWS team & the animals in our care
Ps. If you haven't had a chance to give, there is still time to change lives! Your generosity makes it possible for us to welcome animals with open arms when they have nowhere else to turn.
