The crew had their hands full today fixing all the beds at the east shelter. We are very excited that the dogs will be getting bigger kennels at the new east shelter and will have more room to move around the their beds. The wishlist has 75 beds purchased so far, getting closer to the goal of 300! Wishlist link in the comments.

We are so excited about the new MCACC East shelter we can hardly stand it! We are hoping to get them all new beds for the new shelter - 300 in total :). Grand Opening of the new shelter is slated for Fall 2023. If you would like to help out the shelter dogs, here is the shelter wishlist for a Kuranda dog bed. Thank you in advance!!

Did you know that Kuranda Beds have been manufactured and shipped from Glen Burnie, Maryland since 1987?

We are a family-owned company made up of about 45 employees that work in production, sewing, shipping, customer service, website development and marketing.

The Dog Bed Crew set out to help another shelter. 2 years ago we helped build the initial beds prior to Heidi’s Village grand opening. Today we did some repairs and build new beds. The crew made pretty quick work of the repairs and new builds and we were able to get beds back into kennels for the kiddos. ❤️❤️.

Today the Dog Bed Crew was at the west shelter and braved the lovely Phoenix monsoon heat and humidity. A typical repair day would entail about 20-30 bed repairs. Today? 80! 80 beds needing repairs and the crew hit it out of the park as usual. All dogs have beds and they have about 20 in reserve to use as needed.

The Dog Bed Crew was able to help out another local group with a few pvc framed beds. This group holds strays while looking for their owners. They have large kennel areas and needed a few beds to help the strays have something to lay on. We are always happy to help keep the fur kiddos up off the ground!

When a rescue or shelter asks for help in the form of dog beds, we get to work. The hard working guys got 15 beds built this morning for a shelter up north. We recycle and reuse as much as we can and love providing comfort in the form of a bed for those fur kiddos while they wait for a home. Thank you Jill & Ron for hosting the build location.

We received a fabric donation from one of our vendors. These scraps will be used to make a few beds for a shelter up north to keep their dogs off the concrete. Stay tuned for more pics. Love our community!!!

Shelter day repairs and the Dog Bed Crew had many boxes waiting for us. We can not say “Thank You” enough for those that donated new beds to the west shelter. We received 21 new beds for the dogs. Today we got 21 new beds build and 18 beds repaired.

We do it for the shelter dogs!

Good morning, we have an announcement today for the East Valley: our shelter located at the Loop 101 and Rio Salado Parkway is now open for all services and with updated hours to match our West Valley location.
We want to send a huge THANK YOU to our Dog Bed Crew volunteers, who have been spending countless hours building and repairing dog beds, cleaning out storage areas, and making seemingly endless repairs around the shelter. As you are probably aware, we are working on building a new shelter to replace this location due to how outdated this facility is, and there is no shortage of work to be done. This group of volunteers has made an immeasurable difference in improving the comfort of our shelter pets during their stay, and we truly cannot thank them enough for all their hard work! 🥰❤️

As most of you know, the Dog Bed Crew repairs all of the beds at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control both the east and west shelters. In our last visit to the west shelter last week we repaired over 50 beds and only had 8 in reserve for beds that break and need to be swapped out. We have updated the Kuranda Shelter Bed wish list in hopes of getting a few more beds for the west shelter. All beds purchased will ship directly to the west shelter and will be waiting for our next visit to get them built. Thank you for your consideration of donating a "comfort" item for the shelter dogs. Today the Dog Bed Crew was at the West shelter at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control. We were able to get close to 50 kuranda dog beds repaired and back into kennels. It’s going to be a bit chilly this week here in Arizona so we wanted to make sure all of the dogs were up off the concrete in a comfortable dog bed.

The dog bed crew had another opportunity to work with a local rescue to build some enrichment toys for their dogs. I think they are a hit! These treat dispensers are super easy to make and provide lots of fun for the dogs.

We were asked by a rescue if we could create a puppy play yard. Well, the crew stepped up and quickly got to work using some recycled supplies we had left over from other projects. Here is the finished project and the adorable puppies!

The need fur help never ends .. so many projects!!! today was an extra interesting day fur the Dog Bed Crew with Mother Nature making a serious (potentially deadly) mess 😢 Look at this play yard pen and storage shed that were mangled in a text storm 😱 So there are more than just dogs to walk and bed to fix … please consider volunteering at your County Animal Facility. This one is specifically Maricopa County Animal Care & Control

Thank you Jill and Ron for picking up the parts and building these cat towers!! The Dog Bed Crew rocks it for the cats 🐈.

MANY THANKS to the Dog Bed Crew - Mary, Jill and Ron for putting this one together for us so quickly. Will be going in the feral cattery indoor area, replacing an old, really crappy carpeted tower. This will be so much better and easier to keep clean and more places for kitties to lay on and keep cool. Now we just need a wood scratcher for them and they'll be all set for a while. :)

The crew braved the heat warning here in Phoenix this morning (the temp was about 104) to get over 40 beds repaired for the pups at Maricopa County Animal Care West. We want to thank One Love Pitbull Foundation for their very generous donation of kuranda parts through the shelters Kuranda wishlist. We can’t do what we do without those donations to the shelters.
