In support of Neighborhood Pet Store Day on September 28, 2024, we're partnering again with Lawrenceville Pet Supply to bring you a special fundraiser that will benefit the Pet Center at the Women's Center and Shelter of Great Pittsburgh.

Starting September 15, 2024, we will be collecting both pet items and monetary donations that will go directly to their pantry. During September 15 through 28, 2024, Wagsburgh and Lawrenceville Pet Supply will take 10% OFF any items purchased to be donated. It's a great time to save some money while supporting a great cause.

A little over a month ago, several of our neighbors/customers were impacted by a house fire. Because the homes are in close proximity to one another, three homes were lost in the fire. Fortunately, every human and pet made it out safely.

It had us thinking then. What if that was us? How would the first responders know if we had pets and how many?

To help, we made up these window clings to alert the rescuers that we have furry(or other) loved ones in the home. Hopefully, we never need them, but at least it could save a life or two.

If you'd like one, stop by. We'll be limiting (1) per household since we only have a small number available.

Dog training is an unregulated practice. Which means anyone could classify themselves as a trainer with no experience, certification, or with learnings from YouTube videos or social media posts.

Do yourself and your dog a favor and research the person or organization you're thinking about hiring. You'll save money and do what's right for your dog's mental and physical well-being. We've helped by assembling a list of key terms to look out for and to look for.

Just because a "trainer" may have a lot of followers doesn't certify them as using modern, force-free methodology.

Happy Monday could mean Happy Tails for Brock!

Are you looking for an adolescent pup, patient, and one who loves providing a home that allows a shy pup to blossom? Then Brock is the man for you.

Let's help find Brock his furever companion.

Brock is our longest resident at Angel Ridge. He’s been with us over six months.

My hope is that someone will walk through the door and say, “I am here to rescue your longest resident. I want a dog who truly needs me, and I will embrace his challenges. It will be ok if he doesn’t want to snuggle, and he will be my only pet in my adult home. And I will love him for who he is!”

I know that doesn’t happen often, and that’s a tall order to fill. But I have faith that this person will find Brock and will love him.

Brock is around 7 years old and 30 lbs. He walks nicely on leash and enjoys a good pace as he walks. As a dog who spent his life before Angel Ridge tied for years to a tree, he finds joy in walking the grounds and exploring his world. Brock has lost his eyesight, but that doesn’t slow him down at all!

Brock’s life is better with us than it was when he was chained outside. Brock had no interaction with humans other than someone bringing him food and water. But he deserves the chance to be a pet and to be part of a family.

Brock needs a home with a patient, understanding, loving person who will selflessly devote the time to earn this little boy’s trust. I know you’re out there! ❤️🐾

Words cannot describe how heartbroken we are to learn that Tammy and Chris had to say goodbye to their best friend and best travel pup ever.

We will deeply miss hearing how excited she would get when asked if she wanted to come visit us. We'll miss seeing her pull Chris into the store to receive or refuse her treat behind the desk. And we'll miss knowing how much she LOVED the K9 Granola Factory donuts.

You were one special pup, Molly, and everyone who knew you were better for it.

The 2nd Annual is this weekend. The FREE event is a great attraction for local musicians, vendors, and guests.

Parking can be a little challenging on Saturday. If you're planning to shop with us this weekend, please be patient. We will have our normal hours, so if you don't want to deal with the crowds, come see us on another day or time.

We're closed today, but doesn't care and stopped by to wish us a Happy 4th. Glad we were here catching up on some work to see her and mom.

Hershey also wanted to make sure everyone stayed safe today. She doesn't want to hear about any furkids going missing this holiday season.

If you've been around the North Side long enough, you would have come across Walkin' Bob. Bob was a well-known figure in the neighborhood. He was either sweeping up in front of businesses, sitting at the bus stop, or stopping in to chat and tell some funny stories about the neighborhood. He was the one you could find out pretty much anything about what was going on.

Bob also had his sidekick, McDonald. When Bob wasn't helping clean up around the district, he was walking McDonald and would stop in frequently for some water, a treat, or just to relax.

Several years ago, Bob moved to Troy Hill and hasn't been around in some time. On occasion, we would check in to see how things were going. Last week, Bob called and said that McDonald had some fleas. Unable to get out, I contacted our neighbor Tina and asked if she or her husband Kevin could run some flea & tick protection up to Bob. Without hesitation, Tina stopped in, and I gave her 2 bottles of natural flea & tick spray to give to Bob. Bob called to thank me and let me know it was helping.

Today, Bob called, worried about McDonald. He said Micky was having difficulty walking, and he was panting a lot. I told Bob to contact the vet asap and let them know what was going on. About an hour later, Bob called and informed me that Micky had passed away.

McDonald was such a great pup and was Bob's closest companion. Please keep Bob in your thoughts as he copes with the loss of his best friend, Micky.

Please keep an eye out for Stella’s Baby who pushed through a window and screen yesterday evening in her new foster home in Brighton Heights (close to Perry High).

She is a friendly but scared cat who is used to relying on humans for food. She is spayed, eartipped, and microchipped to TCR.

Animal Friends is in need of food for their Chow Wagon Pet Food Bank. The program assists our neighbors who may need a little help providing for their pets.

The pantry could use canned dog and cat food, and dry cat food. We would be happy to collect your donations during normal business hours.

As an extra incentive, now through June 1, 2024, any dog or cat food purchased at Wagsburgh to be donated, will receive 10% OFF those specific items.
