It's Spring Wellness time! that's right, it's already time for Equine Spring Wellness even though it feels like we just saw everyone for Fall Wellness! ๐ŸคฏAll 3 of our vets are open for Equine appointments, including the highly requested Dr. Parker (who also is a master at lameness and joint injections since we are entering show season)!

If cost is a concern, we have a way to help! We accept CareCredit is a health and wellness credit card with flexible financing options so you can pay over time for care you want or need, that includes for you AND your pet, horse, or farm animals! Ok, we SWOONED over little Ms. Pepper! As you can see, she was all smiles for her appointment! She ended up having a luxating patella (occurs when the kneecap becomes dislocated) and needed some x-rays and medication while she waits to see an orthopedic surgeon to get her back into tip top shape.

She was just the sweetest and our team obviously can't wait to see her back with a full bill of health ๐Ÿฅฐ

Did you know that we accept Veterinary Assistant, Veterinary Technician, and Veterinarian externs and we even have one now!

Meet Bethany, a Veterinary Assistant Extern from PIMA Medical Institute in Seattle! ๐Ÿด You may see her shadowing our assistant's and licensed technician at your next appointment over the next few weeks. Bethany has an interest in Large Animal and Equine medicine and is already learning so much and we are so proud of her!

Sadly, she will only be with us until the end of her externship and then will be moving back down south to start her career in vet med. We love watching her grow and learn but will be super sad to see her go!

IT'S NATIONAL PET DAY! We are celebrating by sharing pictures of a few of our own pets (and spoiling them of course)!

You may see some of them at the clinic or even joining us on farm calls, the dogs that is.

We would love to see pics of your furry family members as well! Don't forget to give them their favorite treats today and give them allll the love (just like you always do).

04/08/2024

Over the weekend at our Kids Event, we had information about dog behavior and behavioral signs to look out for to prevent dog bites for kids and adults. That's because we wanted to bring awareness to Dog Bite Prevention week, which is this week!

Dogs bite for a variety of reasons, but most commonly as a reaction to something. If the dog finds itself in a stressful situation, it may bite to defend itself or its territory. Dogs can bite because they are scared or have been startled. They can bite because they feel threatened. They can bite to protect something that is valuable to them, like their puppies, their food or a toy.

Dogs might bite because they aren't feeling well. They could be sick or sore due to injury or illness and might want to be left alone. Dogs also might nip and bite during play. Even though nipping during play might be fun for the dog, it can be dangerous for people. It's a good idea to avoid wrestling or playing tug-of-war with your dog. These types of activities can make your dog overly excited, which may lead to a nip or a bite.

If you are interested in learning more about dog behavior or if you have questions regarding what to look out for, check out the American Veterinary Medicine Association at the link below! They are a great resource in learning more about all different types of topics, including preventing dog bites!

Surprise, surprise! This little cutie was born at 3:30am this morning and surprised our team who was already planning on coming by today for some reproductive exams on other horses (it's like she couldn't wait to meet us)! Dr. Brown helped momma, Justynn Joelle, with conception of this little one just about a year ago as well!!

Can you tell that we are smitten? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅฐ Such a cutie!

Momma and baby are doing well and we can't wait to continue to see these adorable ladies in the future!
