You know those lucky people who always knew what they wanted to do in life and just made it happen? Well, I am one of those! From the moment I was born I have loved animals and knew from an early age I wanted to groom dogs.

I was fortunate to apprentice for an award winning groomer in Louisville, KY for 3 years. Her standards were high and she was demanding. My passion for animals, drive to succeed, and determination to perfect grooming to her high standards, carried me through my training. I will never forget the day I earned her approval; it was spectacular! I could groom dogs in my sleep by the end of my apprenticeship! I was ready to launch my very own business and that’s exactly what I did.

I opened my own groom shop in Pennsylvania and it was definitely everything I dreamed it would be. It made me very happy and fulfilled. As it turns out, I discovered I also have good business acumen; I was earning a good living, and my customers were happy, both human and canine alike!
I also busied myself with training and showing dogs. Those hobbies have since taken a back seat to my two beautiful bouncing baby girls.

When my husband was offered an excellent job opportunity in Oklahoma, I knew selling my groom shop was the right thing to do, but dang, it made me so sad!
Thankfully, the good people of Oklahoma made the transition easy and accepted my family and me with open arms. Before we knew it, we felt like we were part of the community! As I looked around I saw busy, hard working, family loving people! I had so many conversations with people who were just trying to simplify life so they could spend more time doing the things that really mattered to them. I wanted that too! I was inspired! I built my very own groom shop on wheels…4 Paw Spa! I can now bring my services to my clients!

Now, with every groom I feel extra rewarded in knowing that I have not only made my furry friends happy, but I have made their owner’s lives just a little bit easier.
