🇺🇸 Tips for Pet Safety on July 4th 🇺🇸

As we approach the celebration of Independence Day, let's not forget about our furry friends! Fireworks can be terrifying for pets, and many get lost every year during the festivities. In fact, more pets go missing on July 4th than any other day of the year, and July 5th is the busiest day for shelters across the nation! According to national statistics, only 14% of lost dogs during July 4th are returned to their owners, and up to 30-60% are euthanized because they are never properly identified to be reunited.

Quincy K-9 Connection asks you to remember these tips to keep your pets safe and sound:

🐾Keep Them Indoors: Create a safe, quiet space for your pets away from the noise.

🐾ID & Microchip: Ensure your pets have up-to-date ID tags and are microchipped.

🐾Avoid Fireworks: Keep pets away from firework displays and avoid taking them to large gatherings.

🐾Comfort Items: Provide their favorite toys or blankets to help them feel secure.

🐾Stay Calm: Your pets can sense your emotions, so remain calm and comforting.
