Gunnar and Smoke both participated in a clinic wth Bryan Neubert this weekend! It was an amazing experience. Gunnar had just about the best ride of his riding career, and Smoke learned some new body control today. Both of them really worked and tried hard for me this weekend. I'm so thankful for the experience and to have these two horses to help me better expand my knowledge.

Evie and Amigo had an awesome session today! They not only rode in the round pen by themselves but they took it out to the pasture! Amigo has seriously improved on his trotting and backing. Excited to see him progress!

Ride 5 on Amigo today. Evie had him working on straightness today. He did so much better with backing, much more relaxed and softer. It was a great lesson!

Evie put ride 4 on Amigo. They did great! He learned how to start moving off of the riders cues rather than mine from the ground. They worked on turning on the forehand, stopping, and backing today. They did so great together!

Mr Smokums was a bit jumpy this morning after 2 days of vacation. So we started in the round pen. After some desensitizing, he completely changed his attitude. He stopped reacting and for the first time since he came home with me he walked as I sent him off in the pen, he got very soft in the side reins and completely listened to me and stayed in tune with me. It was a great start. Then I hoped on ba****ck and we played around until we went out for a nice long 2 hour trail ride around snake lake.

Today was an "ah ha" day. I remember why I loved this horse so much the first time I had him. Even with his spookiness on the ground he was pretty solid in the arena today. Not to brag but when a horse has a good foundation on them, even with quite of bit of time in-between, they remember. We also found the bit that works for him. It's just one step up from the 01 Myler its a 02 Myler with tongue relief but with a chin chain to add pressure there instead. He turned on his forehand, hindquarters, side passed, slowed his trot, and did all this with a collected body and head. I'm quite excited about this boy and our upcoming clinics and shows.

So Smoke came to me in December of 2014. As I believe a 2 1/2yr old. He was a little spooky at the time but he had so much try, and we quickly progressed without any bumps in the road. After 30 days he went back to his owner. Now almost a year and a half later we have been reunited. The plan is to barrow him so I can participate in my clinics that I had already signed up for. At this point he's quiet the spooky and jumpy guy. The last 3 days have been spent in the round pen desensitizing him and getting him to want to be with me. He has been quite hard with the bit. Today was the first time in side reins since I picked him up. He has a super hard time focusing and slowing himself down. If we can just break through that, I know he and I will get to a great place together. He was also quite hard in the bit and I'm hoping he will start to soften up. All in all, I feel that we are starting to connect again, and I'm hoping we find a really good place together so we can get to work. First clinic is May 7th! Time to step it up :)

Mavrik and I worked on desensitizing Smoke to the flag. He's a flighty guy, but we will get to a good place. He also got a pedicure today :)

Gunnar's first day of work has begun! Evie has agreed to ride him for me. They're going to teach each other few things. I'm excited :D

It was a good day on Amigo! Evie worked on head control today as well as quite a bit of trotting. He turns well on his forehand and hindquarters. Amigo really seems to be gaining confidence. Next time we will loose the lung line and really get to work!

It was a big day for Amigo. First ride! Evie was his mount as she is more his size, and she was wonderful with him!

Amigo really did good today. We did some desensitizing, stepping up to the fence, and Evie stood in the stirrups!

Evie is really working on her skills in the saddle. She is digging the English get up on her boy Jäger. She's doing great!

Miss Honey had quite the afternoon! She was the perfect lady for the kids and pony rides. Very happy and proud of how far this girl has come :D

Mr Amigo had a good session this morning! He was saddled for the first time, and yes that is a kids saddle. We have pony rides later and it's what I had in my truck! He also ground drove for the first time. He seemed to finally start putting the pieces together during the ground driving. He also carried a tarp and trotted around with it like a cape. I'm excited to keep this boy progressing!

Day 3 with Amigo. He got to learn about side reins today. He gives to the bit really well and he is starting to keep his brain a little bit when I speed up those feet of his. We had a minor moment when he thought that leaving the round own would be easier than working with me, and immediately after he tried so hard to find the right answer. Must work though the hard to get to the good!

This is Amigo. He is a pony paint cross. He is a 3 year old rescue that I'm starting. He was cinched for the first time today and he also carried a bit for the first time! He was wonderful and I look forward to our next sessions!

So proud of Gunnar today. The 4 year old mustang ponied the 14 year old mustang. More like he drug her stubborn butt up the trail. When she decided she didn't want to walk up the hilly trail Gunnar decided he would just keep going and pull her with him. Dang champ this mustang is.

This girl is in for some major training! She doesn't understand the concept of giving to the bit, going straight, or turning lol. Deffinatly c**t training status. I decided to take her on the 10 minute trail the ranch has and she hollered and tried to run back to the barn the whole time. If it's being barn sour or buddy sour, it's going to change. She's finally showing me her personality, which I appreciate, it's showing me what I have to work with :)

I got a first ride on honey the 14yr old mustang mare I'm restarting. She behaved herself but felt like an untrained c**t. She has a lot of learning to do!

My newest "project" she is a 14 year old mustang mare. Michelle Cruz just adopted her, and would like her restarted with my horsemanship training. Biggest obstacle right now is getting her to "want" to be with me or "want" to do something. She's already progressing, she's incredibly smart. She pretends to be a dead head but Michelle and I both know she's got a lot of personality in there and we are both excited to discover it! Meet Honey!

More Liberty training with Gunnar! His bow is much improved and his lay down isn't bad either...we have a new trick we are starting too work on. Stay tuned to see what it is!
After our liberty training Gunnar got tacked up to be an English pony for a wee bit. He looks so cute in English tack :)

I would like to put some feelers out there. Star horse training is looking for a horse trailer. 2-3 horse bumper pull, must have good floors and a full tack room. Slant or stock preferred. Price range around $2000. Please let me know if you have any leads. Thanks everyone!

Who says horses don't come when you call?

I have really had a fantastic day. Goose and I on the trail we walk trotted... And LOPED!!!!!!! Yay Goose!

Huge deal that Goose follows me, he didn't want to be "with me" for the longest time and now he will do it at liberty in the pasture :D

Goose went to his first show today. We only did halter for some exposure but he was awesome the whole time :D

It's not the greatest video the person videoing it for me didn't know that your not supposed to turn the camera lol. But gooses driving is going great, it was the first time I asked him to walk into anything like the tire.

Goose got ponied for the first time today he even trotted. I would have loved to do it with my horse but Gunnar is half the size of Goose so we used Preston the palomino tank lol

Some things I have to take baby steps with, but others are leaps like the balloons today. Goose will be available for adoption in June after the makeover! He's going to be a solid boy!

There is so much I could critique about myself.. I have colt seat bad! Lol enough about me Goose man was great today. He is really one of those horses that when he gets something he is solid on it. We made some huge breakthroughs today. I couldn't be happier :)

Goose's first ride! He did great, now once I can get my hands on a couple more panels we can lope! :)

So this is our official first ride. Not at all like my usual first rides. I normally do walk, trot, lope in the bit but Goose is an odd one. He flexes great on the ground but it didn't transfer in the saddle and if I put too much bit pressure on him just flexing he will rear over backwards so I played it safe with a pony ride basically and settling for that today.
