Middlesex Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary hospital that provides a wide array of services including comprehensive physical exams, vaccinations, surgery, radiology and dentistry as well as an onsite laboratory and pharmacy. We are a private one-doctor practice whose patients include dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other "pocket pets". We strive to provide the best possible care to

our patients in a compassionate, helpful manner. We are available for appointments Monday through Friday in the morning and afternoon. We are open later on Wednesday evening. Surgeries and dentals are generally performed on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We created this page for our clientele and community in hopes of providing clinic updates, announcements, news alerts and other fun & useful information. We encourage you to post pet photos, share stories & feedback, interact with other pet owners and share special pet-related or community events. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOUR PET IS HAVING A MEDICAL PROBLEM OR EMERGENCY, CALL THE OFFICE FOR ADVICE OR AN APPOINTMENT. Please do not post personal medical inquiries here as we may not get to them in a timely fashion. Message from Dr. Harrison

After over 35 years of practicing veterinary medicine (2/3 of those years in Reading), it is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement and closing of Middlesex Animal Hospital. I will no longer see patients after Thanksgiving Day and hours thereafter will be limited until the hospital officially closes on 12/31/23.

My main focus at this time is to ensure a smooth transition for you and your pet. I highly recommend Reading Animal Clinic, which is located right up Main St. from us, with convenient parking. Dr. Beth Shurland and her team practice the same quality of medicine you are accustomed to. They are a six doctor practice and have availability to see your pets in their time of need. You may even see some familiar faces join their team.

If you would like to become a client of Reading Animal Clinic, please fill out a new client form on their website www.readinganimalclinic.com. Look for the NEW CLIENTS tab. In this drop down is the online form. A representative will reach out to you shortly to complete your account and make an appointment for your pet. If you have any trouble, feel free to give them a call at 781-944-1699 and they will be happy to assist you.

If you would rather have your medical records personally, you can call us or request them at [email protected]. Once we are closed, your records will be available at Reading Animal Clinic. Please keep in mind that if your pet needs to have refills or be prescribed medications, an office visit with a veterinarian is required first to establish a patient/doctor relationship in accordance with veterinary medical industry standards.

I want you to know that it has been an honor and a privilege to serve and care for your pet(s). I leave you in good hands with Reading Animal Clinic. That's where my pets will be going.

Does anyone recognize this lost pooch?

Does anyone know who this dog belongs to? She was found by Line/Track Rd in Reading near the Wakefield line. She is a white shepherd about 45-50lbs. She was found yesterday, but we haven't been able to locate her owners.

Rusty had his first check up with Dr. Harrison and her staff at the Middlesex Animal Hospital.

He was very brave and as always Dr. Harrison and her staff were very nice and excited to meet Rusty.
