Farm worker needed to join our team

San Sebastian Equestrian Center is looking for someone to perform daily chores at the farm.

Duties include:

Feed hay and grain and water horses 3 times daily
Turnout Am and switch horses at noon, then bring all in for dinner
top off paddock water tubs
clean and bed 16 stalls
water & drag arena
blow the aisleway
take garbage from barn to curb on Monday morning
Some light repairs and maintenance (hotwire, fencing, etc)

To perform this job you need to:

Have experience handling and working with horses
Be available 6 days a week Sunday - Friday or Monday - Saturday (Must be flexible in case of emergency or unusual situations) (I pay a minimum of 40 hours per week)
Eligible to work in the US
Speak, read and write English
Have reliable transportation and cell phone
Be able to drive the tractor
Be 18 years of age or older
Able to pass a background check
Be free from physical problems that would prevent you from doing the work
Have a positive, helpful, and safety-minded attitude
Be able to supply two references - at least one in the horse industry

Salary of $17-$21 per hour

Weekend Barn Help Needed!
I need someone to feed, clean stalls, and turnout on weekends – prior experience handling horses is a must and candidate must speak English and be a US citizen or have legal right to work in the US. This would be a good job for supplemental income – We need someone to do morning feed, clean stalls, and do morning turnout for 10-16 horses. Being able to fill in on some weekdays and to cover my normal barn worker’s vacation time would be a plus. Please be ready to provide references from horse industry professionals. My TBT - Here is my first dressage horse Corino. This is before I even owned him with his owner Nina Bengtsson. I bought him from Jil Walton (eventer) whose family had bought him through Mette Rosencrantz for her sister to do the FEI young riders on. I learned so much on him!!!

Beekeeping Update: Last Sunday, Laura's beekeeping Mentor, Ken Argo (www.gooddoghoney.com) inspected both of Laura's hives which they observed
were doing better than expected. One of the hives had been closed up because it was establishing a queen. Laura saw that the
queen was in good condition and laying well so the hive has been opened up so the bees can fly in and out. The queen in the other
box is also laying well and in good condition. Laura has had to add a third box to one of the hives and anticipates adding a
third box to the other hive as soon as builds and paints it. Once the blackberries start to bloom the hives
will expand even faster. Laura will then add even more boxes.
