Richland County, WISC., 4-H Fair, Dog Obedience Show, 2024 is now part of history. So Awesome! I feel it is a blessing and honor to see these kids and all the Furry 4-legged kids today. A couple points separated 1st from second place. I am blessed to be the judge of this event. Thank you for the parents and staff that support this. I hope 2025 brings more dogs, more audience and the chance to judge this event again. I am just so happy to see the work the kids make with the dogs, share stories of some of my canine experiences, in rescue, den trials, field trials and obedience work of my dogs in military, Law enforcement, rescue work, and personal use. Richland County, WI 4-H Dog Show 2024 Rocks!

8/6/24. 0700. Six little loud piglets, momma sow went wandering to graze. Another preggo sow in bottom field beginning to make a nest, escorted her to the barn yard. Hoping she stays calm and does good. River will rise to near the banks in hours, lost a lawn chair in the storm, it is swimming w da fishes!

8/4/24. 8pm. Part #2. Kune-kune delivery recovery/rescue and feeding. 1. I could not find the sow anywhere in open fields or river banks. 2. I located piglet #6, wandering and crying in the swamp bottoms. 3. This evening I began droplets of colostrum supplement for pigs since I could not locate the sow as dusk approached. 4. one boar was noticed at the swamp/pond edge at dusk, when I walked to him I found the missing sow, guarding piglet #7 deceased. boar /sow did not want to leave the area until i carried #7 with and they smelled that i had it. we slowly walked a 1/4 miile almost to the barn and reunited her with the remaining 6 piglets. and secured her in a building hopefully for the night with food and water.

Listen to those inner thoughts: Today I NEEDED to remove a smaller spare tire in the sun and heat of the day causing a trailer to turn irregularly. Suddenly I see item moving in tall grass near the yard and chicken house and pig house. No visible critters in the area. I approach with a spade in my hand like Elmer Fudd. I find a very very newly born Kune-kune piglet the size of a gerbil in the tall grass! OH Boy, I was expecting piglets in 2 weeks. After 110 minutes of frantic searching yards, fields, barn I have located 5 newborn piglets. The sow is 100 percent blind and struggles with navigation so to locate her and contain her with her piglets without alerting about 20 other pigs was fun. As of 4pm, mom and piglets all are alive and in the pig house separated from the rest. Wow! Just Wow. I have a feeling I will be having a long night trying to nurse piglets in the heat.

Indian Pipe
This fascinating plant (Monotropa uniflora) is definitely one of nature’s weird wonders. Because it has no chlorophyll and doesn’t depend on photosynthesis, this ghostly white plant is able to grow in the darkest of forests. Many people refer to this strange plant as Indian pipe fungus, but it is not a fungus at all – it just looks like one. It is actually a flowering plant, and believe it or not, it is a member of the blueberry family.

N. Richland Co.., WI Pine River. Another deluge during the night filled the swollen Pine River back up with mud and silt. About 15" high at 0900 7/23/24. Looks like thick, Chocolate milk, Again!

To discover a new patch of Wild parsnip before it flowers will be memorable. Just happened to be wearing a shirt and even long sleeves as i fished Sat at dusk! There were only 2 spots I spun around along the banks of the river while fishing. One had Wild Parsnip without any flowers on it! Lower left. front abs/hip and Right rear of Right hip made contact. Life goes on..... Happy it was covered, with a shirt, and use ice cold shower to contract the pores of the skin then rubbed fresh Jewel W**d on the areas also. Today it is only slightly annoying. Even in my own pasture, I did not notice it because it had NO Flowers and there are 4-6 plants with foliage of the same style. Be careful.....

07/21//24. 0700. Northern Richland Co., WI. Water and fish updates. The Water level is approx. 5" above normal. The water clarity improved a huge amount over the last 12 hours. Casting wobblers Minnow baits (SALMO) that look like native species produced Browns at each undercut bank this morning. All C/R with coffee my morning coffee. All banks are super soft, and grasses s6-9 feet tall at many areas. So, that first missed step is a huge one, Be careful out there.

N. Richland County, WI. Water Report, storms updates, Bug intensity! The Pine River north of Richland Center is Still approx 6 " above july high levels, Color is still dark and dirty! The main branch of the Pine River has many HUGE trees spanning and resting in the river. Most can be navigated by a Narrow width true/regular Yak. Floating "surfboards" are much too wide now to navigate w/o effort. Canoes are not an option at this time. The river in City limits is good to paddle because Mark Said so! Launch at Bowen's Mill/ on County AA. I hope to paddle and fish from Pier springs Park to AA in the next few days and better asses if at a point of No return, Back to all Natural, or if a 18-20 channel can be cut open? BUGS? the bugs are like being in a swamp! "Let's Be Careful out there!" The HUGE log jam 1000 meters north of AA is navigable, Stay to the rt. it was blown apart last month but only took out 20% of the dam in one of the floods. Navigating near the last farm before AA stay to the Left through all down timber approx 6-7 turns and ox-bow, as of 7/12/24 until you view the Huge log jam!

Rehoming- Berk. cross piglets six of them. They are almost 10 weeks old, the size of footballs. I own recently became owner of both parents. These can be berk, KK, IPP, even Juilianna cross with a touch of a PB. in there. These are all natural and raised in a pasture. No bottles, no chemicals, no clipping of anything, no hand feeding but, they are curious and, but parents are gentle. These 6 piglets do not work well on our farm and would be happy to create a deal/trades for all 6 or just 1,2 or 3. They live in N. Richland County.

We are accepting donations of young trees to provide shade, the farm fields were sprayed for decades for only GMO corn, Starting trees from seeds has failed miserable in 5 years. Only trees that have a root base of at least 12 inches will grow due to residuals left in the soil. I have planted and lost over 750 1 foot tall trees in 5 years due to the surface tainted soil.

This is "SPUD". He is an intact Belgium rescued with VERY DEEP ankle wounds from uncared for hooves cutting into his ankles and teeth not floated and left to die on a certain type Religious groups farm. It has taken an entire year of 2x a day medical treated, many sessions of hove trimming and eat floated, and a Healthy diet and he has almost gone from 1400 lbs to approx 3000 in one year as his health improved. He is such a big stud and cute as a lil muffin.

I would like to write a brief intro: I always worked in the public sector, law enforcement, behavior treatment, Army, hospital manager, social worker as well as a teacher, sports coach. Even 4 terms as an elected Offical. "Finally A Farm", My Farm. Gary Peters in his element. Gary is the one with the already established LLC and Non profit organization and he's been my saving grace because he's allowing me to use his land to make my dream of changing lives through horse therapy come true. We both have the the understanding this line of work will not make us rich, but helping people get through tough times mentally and physically when no other therapy has worked for them is payment enough!
