She’s HOME! Little “Ocean” Eyes came home on Tuesday night and has been settling in just perfectly! Passed her new puppy wellness exam this morning with flying colors. We’ve learned that she LOVES wagging her little nub, playing and pouncing on Siren, and snuggling like crazy! 🐾

𝘚𝘐𝘓𝘝𝘌𝘙 𝘓𝘐𝘕𝘐𝘕𝘎𝘚 // About a month ago we had to make a tough decision and rehome our German Shepherd, Ghost.

It was an especially difficult choice because when we got him we had something new to bond with Dad over (Chris’s Dad but just as much a father to me). He was quite the German Shepherd enthusiast and we loved all the memories shared with him and our new pup.

When we said goodbye to Dad, part of us held on to those moments by holding onto Ghost. Our daughter, Aurora, was especially attached and we know he brought quite a bit of healing as she snuggled with him most nights. For that we will be forever grateful to Ghost.

But we were painfully aware that he needed a different life than what we could provide and it was only a matter of time before we had to let go and say our goodbyes to him too. When we did, we promised our girl that she could get a small pup of her own— one that we could give a good life to.

I reached out to Siren’s breeder and asked when June (Siren’s mom) might be having another litter. She let me know that she was actually expecting a litter sometime in March.

Well this is the little girl our daughter chose. The one who wore the pink collar. The one she named, Ocean… the one born on Dad’s birthday. ♥︎

Yep… it was probably for the smoke detectors, but Siren’s name sits on our homes foundation. It only seemed fair to add Ocean’s name somewhere. 🐾

Why “Salty Little Schnauzers”? Our family loves the beach and, well, our “Little” pup does not!

Strangely enough, she prefers dirt and running through fields at horse shows— and getting covered in stickers! She’s mischievous and adorable, and though she may not be a fan of the beach, she sure does have a salty little attitude!

We got her from the best breeder around, Savannah Garr at Little Schnauzer Paws! When we purchased her, Savannah explained that she asks that all her pups are registered with “Little” at the start of their name… now you understand why the quotation marks around that word.

We absolutely loved this tradition of hers and thought we’d carry it on into any future litters we may have so that she may continue to keep track of these wonderful generations of sweet “Little” pups! ♥︎
