The Daily Dozer

Every once in a while a special needs cat comes into the shelter that requires long term care, lots of love and patience.

Meet Dozer.
Dozer arrived to the shelter as a kitten and it was discovered he had issues with bladder and bowel control.
He was a typical playful, curious, loving kitten but his medical needs made it hard to find a forever family that could care for him…so one of our special volunteers Christine N. took on the challenge of becoming a long term foster for Dozer to give him the opportunity of a loved and cared for life.

Christine (or xtine as she likes to be called at the shelter) created a special Facebook account to share Dozer’s journey and her journey fostering him. Her humor, patience and creativity is fun to follow and her sharing keeps all the volunteers and KAS Community up to date on Dozer’s journey.

Sweet, petite 1 1/2yr old Harper 🎼
is STILL looking out the window patiently waiting for her forever home.

Harper has been at the shelter since April, she was brought in by a local family after being dropped in the road by a truck that drove away and left her. 💔

Despite this, Harper is a LOVE.
She is small and petite, super sweet and gentle, cuddly, loves affection and will make an amazing sweet pet.
She is so beautiful….our mini Egyptian queen of the shelter.

If you are looking for a gentle, loving girl please come visit Harper. She is a beauty.

Thank you for sharing Harper to help her find a forever home. 🐾

Despite the rain, the serenity and beauty of Rod Lauman’s Rose Garden at 206 Cliff St. In St. Johnsbury shines!

Rod started this Rose Garden with one rose bush in 1995. Over the years he continued to add more and more roses of all colors, varieties and styles.

Eventually he created sitting benches and paths, quiet serene spots to absorb and smell the beauty of the roses.

Inevitably cats started being incorporated into to the Rose Garden…..a walking tour was created where one can view and reflect on pictures and bios of current cats available for adoption at the shelter.

A very special area was created for a few select cats who have passed from Kingdom Animal Shelter, to be buried in special places of the garden with a dedicated rose bushes planted on their spot….including our most super senior Cosmos.

We highly encourage you to take a few moments of your day today to come visit the Rose Garden….you won’t regret it…the garden is so beautiful and relaxing.

Rod is available for guided tours, to share all the names and styles of roses and the garden’s history.

It’s happening! Today at 9am…rain or shine we will be having our bake sale, yard sale and rose garden tour. Looks like rain this morning and more clear as the day goes on.

Bark in the Park will be held at 12noon today instead of 2pm…so come early to buy your winning ticket!! Tickets will be on sale all morning right up to Sadie the lab picking the tennis balls.

Open adoption hours at the shelter will be closed this Saturday June 21st for the
Cats & Roses Event on Cliff St. (See events)

However, if there is a cat you are interested in adopting, please submit an application so we can begin connecting with you.

We have many cats in the shelter who are ready and eager to find their forever homes and we are happy to reach out to you!

The appointment includes an exam, surgery, rabies and distemper vaccines, parasite treatment, nail trim and ear cleaning.

Update Friday: GREAT NEWS!!! Knee Hi is HOME!!! A great big THANK YOU to our entire community for sharing and helping get the word out. We are so appreciative this boy is home. A very special thank you to Moose River Campground and their neighbor Stan!

Update Thursday evening:
Knee Hi is still missing. Please keep an eye out. He is 25yrs old and will be timid. He might be in the woods or wandering property. Water and food have been left out at the home.
Call day or night with any sitings. Owners appreciate everyone’s concern and shares.

An Alpaca is missing from its home in East St. Johnsbury, VT near Rt 2. They were seen on a game camera, running down the road about an hour ago.

The event includes a bake sale of homemade baked goods, a Yard Sale and our famous Bark in the Park drawing.

We are accepting donations for the Yard Sale starting Tuesday, June 18 at Rod’s place on Cliff St….we appreciate any lightly used items in good condition.
