Cain and Big Mama are looking for forever homes! They are available for adoption, foster, or rescue through Glynn County Animal Services in Brunswick, GA. Here is more info on each dog: Cain ID# A004956 (white and cream dog): 3 yo, neutered male, 50lbs, mixed breed. He is UTD on shots, microchipped, he is HW+ but has already completed a 30 day round of doxy and is receiving monthly HW prevention (essentially slow kill HW treatment). He is your typical energy level, would love a fenced in yard to play in or a semi-active family to go on adventures with. Cain is VERY dog friendly, but a meet and greet is always recommended with any other furry sibling. He has not been cat tested but can be done if needed. He loves playing with toys and loves all people! Big Mama ID# A005662 (gray and white dog): 5 yo, female (will be spayed), roughly 45lbs, mixed breed. She is UTD with shots, microchipped, and at time of spay surgery will be HW tested. Big Mama came from a cruelty case where all adult dogs where chained to dog houses in an overgrown field near the residence. It was said that the dogs were family members who had passed away and then no one lived at the house to take care of the dogs. So, you can imagine what kind of life this was like, so she still has a lot to learn about manners but is a very kind natured dog who does aim to please. The video shows that she did well with Cain, but a meet and greet with any potential furry sibling is required. She has not been cat tested but can be done if needed. Please share and help these sweet pups find their forever homes! I will post more photos of them in the comments so you can see them better! UPDATE! JIM AND CHALLENGER HAVE BEEN ADOPTED MARCH 2023 *MARCH 2023 AT RISK LIST* * Wanted to repost Jim, because we have recently learned he is awesome with other dogs and wanted to repost with play yard video with his friend Challenger! I will put more photos of him in the comments! * What we know about Jim A004157 (black and white dog with more white): -1yo - 50lbs - Male (neutered) - UTD on shots - On Flea/Tick Preventative - HW status- HW- - Microchipped - Dog friendly (meet and greet with any potential furry siblings always encouraged) - Has not been cat tested - Normal energy level - Loves going for walks, playing in the play yards and will roll over on his back to get belly rubs! Jim was brought in as a stray suffering with demodex (which has since been treated and he’s fully recovered) but he was a middle-aged puppy…. That was in JULY. This poor boy was overlooked due to his previous skin issues and now is getting overlooked likely due to his coloring and kennel anxiety. He has spent very critical months of development in a shelter environment. He needs a home who has the time and willingness to work with him on some training. He is very loving and wants to please, he just hasn’t had the opportunity of a good home life. This is not an official page for Glynn County Animal Control. Golden Isles Pupdates is run by a group of people that volunteer their time to Glynn County Animal Control (GCAC). The purpose of this page is to spread awareness of the dogs available and on stray hold at GCAC.
