or the dog world began at the age of 10, though, where she competed in Junior Handling at one AKC dog show after another. It was during those years when her passion for making animals look their very best took root. As a child she would be next to the grooming table, watching as her stepmother would groom the family show dogs. Melissa would "help" brush the animals to learn the proper way to handle pets safely during the grooming process. As she got older, she became trusted with the responsibility of doing the grooming herself. It was a rule that if she was showing the dog, then she had to get it show-ring-ready! Melissa started her professional career in a corporate company, where she graduated through the Pet Stylist program. It didn’t take long for her to realize this was her dream job! Her love for animals, and her patient understanding of them grows every day. She has never stopped learning -- and never will! As a Professional Pet Groomer, Melissa takes pride in keeping her education up-to-date in the latest innovations of the industry.
