A couple of weeks ago, I drove by a group of people in my neighborhood who were looking upward at some trees. After pulling over and asking what was going on, they pointed to a pine tree branch, 50 feet up, where a cat was huddled. He had been there for 7 days. Snow was predicted shortly and the Fruitland Fire Department couldn't help. I went home and called both the Salisbury Fire Department and Delmarva Power, but neither could come out. Next I called Tree Tech. The owner said that her son and another man were working nearby and could slip by and help get the cat down. As they pulled up, snow flurries had started, but they got the bucket ready and up it went. The cat meowed as the bucket approached, and was quickly rescued from the tree branch. The bucket headed down, and when it was close to the ground, the cat jumped out and ran home - just before it snowed 8 inches!
