Meet Buttons! Buttons is one of our boarders at SawHorse Ranch . He was just recently added into our lesson program! Buttons is a 12yo Percheron cross who thinks he’s a big dog! 😆 We are excited to have this handsome hunk in our program!

By October we will have more boarding and training spots available once the bigger barn and indoor is complete!

Edited to add some photos of it being used by their Aunt! 🫶

Here’s a 50+ year old saddle I brought back to life for a client! It was their Aunts and she passed it onto them. It came covered in mildew and the leather super dehydrated. It’s crazy what a little elbow grease can do! Sadly, I didn’t snap a good before photo, but the latigo should give you a good idea of what it looked like! Thanks Chelsea for trusting me with your saddle! 🫶🥰🩵🤠

All the painstakingly hard work on the arena paid off!! It drains fantasticly and doesn’t puddle!

Really proud of Whiskey and Vida at their very first playday together! Whiskey wasn’t sure about the last barrel and the scary tractor in the exhibitions but they pulled out a smooth run in the end! Trying to Turn this ranch horse into a barrel horse 😆😂

The mountain of dirt is slowly diminishing and the barn pad is coming closer to completion!! Building on the indoor arena and boarder barn should start soon!!! I can’t wait!!

‼️TO ALL OF MY CURRENT CLIENTS‼️


Please Remember to show up 15-20mins early to groom and tack your horse. Or however long it takes you to saddle. Your riding lesson STARTS, At the scheduled time. If your lesson is at 8:00 you need to arrive no later than 7:45 and be ready to swing a leg over in the arena at 8:00. If you arrive at 8:00 then the time it takes to tack up will dig into your lesson time. I want to make sure you get the full 30 or 45mins of RIDE time that you’re paying for.

Thanks to all of my clients who have been showing up early to groom and saddle ☺️ it makes my job easier when I don’t have to worry about you saddling your horse on time. I’m not singling anyone out! I know this is an adjustment and different than what you’re used to, but it’s actually to benefit the rider to get more saddle time ☺️

When your horse acts up, are they truly “acting up” or are they trying to communicate with you? Obviously they can’t speak to you, so they communicate by body language and behavior.
If your horse doesn’t normally “act up” and they start acting up. Don’t automatically assume the horse is just being difficult/disrespectful. Ask yourself Why is the horse acting up? Are they sore? Does your saddle/tack fit properly? Are they burnt out on doing the same routine? Are you asking correctly? Are you communicating CLEARLY? More often than not, the horse is trying to tell you something. It’s our job to LISTEN. Even I have to remind myself to listen to my horse if something isn’t going as planned. Yes, sometimes it is the horse, and they can be a turdbucket 💩🪣 But check yourself before you start correcting them!

Tell me why the barn is 100x’s cleaner than my house 🤣😂🤣 the barn gets swept daily. I wish I could say the same at home. LOL. 😝
