FEATURED ON FOX35: Butch needs a home! This morning, FOX35 Orlando featured Butch, a well-mannered big boy originally from Orange County, who has been in residence at Seminole County Animal Services for several months now. Butch spends most of his days as an office dog, hanging out on a bed, eating all the treats and greeting new friends. But he deserves a family of his own!
Butch is easygoing by nature, good around children, and excels in dog play groups. He's eager to learn, is communicative with his needs, and would thrive in any home. Could it be yours? ❤🐾
SEEING DOUBLE: Our own Victor Montalvo is proud to cheer on his Team USA namesake at the Olympics! Seminole County Saves A Kitten
KITTEN RESCUE: Life saved! Seminole County Animal Services and Seminole County Fire Department worked together last night to save the life of one of the littlest Seminole County residents…a four-month-old kitten. The kitten had gotten trapped in a storm drain in Lake Mary and after repeated attempts to capture via traps in the drain, SCFD firefighters went down the pipe themselves to lure the kitten out.
And the rescue came just in the nick of time with a downpour washing out the storm drain within the hour. Now named Dave, after Firefighter/Paramedic Dave Gomez who rescued him, Dave is back at Animal Services recuperating from his adventure and is ready for a foster or forever home of his own! 😻🚨🐾 🚒
PETS FOR PATRIOTS: Seminole County Animal Services is thrilled to partner with Veteran Services and Pets for Patriots to connect animals in need of a home, with veterans in need of love. With an understanding that pets can reduce stress, and alleviate PTSD or depression, Pets for Patriots’ nationwide initiative offers sponsored adoptions for veterans.
And it is through this partnership that Casselberry resident and Vietnam veteran Paul Rios ended up with his pup, Lady. Watch their story! 🇺🇸🐾

DOGS PLAYING FOR LIFE: The more time they get to play, the better! To increase the adoptability of dogs in residence, Seminole County Animal Services is proud to partner with Dogs Playing for Life. Running a week-long training at the shelter, representatives from Dogs Playing for Life are working with staff and volunteers to enrich the lives of dogs living at the shelter by running daily playgroups.
A focus on socialization in regular playgroups can lead to more adoptable animals, who spend less time living at the shelter. Win win! 🐾🥰
ANIMAL SERVICES OFFICER APPRECIATION: Seminole County Animal Services wouldn’t be the same without the efforts of our diligent team members.
Our Animal Services Officers work hand-in-hand with our dispatch personnel and investigators to respond to cases of animal cruelty, concerns of animal welfare, and patrol the streets for strays.
A special thank you to all the hard work our officers do! You’re paws-tively making a difference in our community. ❤️
ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS: With a recent change in operational hours at Seminole County Animal Services, staff has been able to dedicate the mornings to animal enrichment programs aimed at socialization and stimulation of the animals. That means increased playtime for the dogs and cats in residence!
Specifically when it comes to the dogs, it is our goal that by increasing the amount of time they spend outside of the kennel that the pup will show more of it’s true self to potential adopters.
Operational Hours:
