It’s here! My final seasonal blog post of 2022! 🎉

I have had the joy + privilege of photographing over 200 maternity, newborn and family sessions this year. (!!!)

I have grown so much as a photographer through my own parenting journey, and I am so proud to bring that love, admiration and intentionality to my work. I love connecting deeply with my families, and growing alongside them.

I have also heard so so many stories from my families about their own experiences with infertility + IVF, and I am so moved by that thread we get to share.

I love seeing all of the pregnancy announcements this time of year!! If you’re expecting in 2023 and looking for a newborn photographer, I wanted to clue you in on how it works to book with me!

1. Head on over to the link in my profile to access my easy online booking site and click “Newborn”.
2. Select the available date approximately 1 week after your due date. This is just a place-holder and will get you on my calendar!
3. Let me know when baby arrives and we’ll get you scheduled! I typically photograph babies around 2-3 weeks old.

I specialize in lifestyle, in-home newborn photography. This means cozy, whole family (pets included!) portraits to document this exciting and precious time! Sessions typically last about an hour to an hour-and-a-half and include your edited, full resolution images in an online gallery with printing rights!

Plus, I offer a discount when you bundle your newborn photography with a maternity session! I love getting to capture both milestones for my families!

I am SO excited to finally release Holiday Tinies THIS FRIDAY 9/23 at 11am! I'll be sending out the booking link via my newsletter, so set your alarms! If you’re not on the list yet, be sure to sign up via my link in profile!

They will be held on Saturday, November 12th at a beautiful studio near UW! (Where I hosted my Mommy & Me Minis this year - classic/simple backdrop, pictured here)!

$425 (+tax) session fee includes your edited, high resolution images in an online gallery with printing rights. I am to deliver your final gallery before Thanksgiving!

Besides Holiday Tinies, my schedule is currently booked through 2022 for family sessions. However, I am currently booking full Maternity Sessions through December + Newborn Sessions through March! Booking via link in profile!

I will be releasing fall/holiday session dates TOMORROW - Friday, July 22, at 11am! I put together a little blog post showing some of my mini session locations in the fall so you can have a visual for where you may want to shoot this season. Mini Session location options include: Green Lake Park, Discovery Park, Gas Works Park, Golden Gardens and Carkeek Park. Minis are only available on weekdays + Alternative locations are available for an additional fee.

New on the blog! 🎉 The chaos + joy of three! I have had a few newborn sessions recently with families welcoming their third babies – and I’ve gotta say, I LOVE the chaos and joy of three!! It is so much fun to capture the personalities of the big siblings with a new little one in the mix. There is so much energy! I love how parents accept and embrace the wild and craziness that is their growing family, and allow me to document the little moments. The quiet snuggles with mom and dad, the tickle fights and gentle (or not so gentle!) kisses.

Hey friends! Big announcement! 🎉 I recently shared with my past clients that starting next week I will be implementing an online booking calendar!! I am hoping this will streamline the process of seeing my availability, as well as booking sessions with me moving forward. My goal is to make things as simple + easy as I can, and make your experience working with me even better!

Dates will be released seasonally, beginning with summer dates (June through August) to be announced on Tuesday, June 7th at 11am via my newsletter. If you’re not already on the list, be sure to sign up via my link in profile!
*Just a heads up, dates will be very limited due to sessions already on the books + plans scheduled!

Fall/holiday dates will be released at the end of July (exact date to be announced via the newsletter).

Maternity + Newborn dates will also be open through the remainder of 2022 - I only take a select number of newborn sessions each month, so if you’re expecting (or know someone who is!) be sure to mark your calendar/share with a friend!
*Newborns are currently at capacity through August!

This is one of the locations I offer for weekday mini sessions and is the perfect place to capture your bump/baby/family!

New on the blog! 😍 I am thrilled to share some of our amazing newborn photos by my friend .photo! I had been waiting for and dreaming of doing this session for so long – and this mama heart is so happy looking through these images!

I have SO much respect for my clients for getting themselves upright to take newborn photos with me 🤣 We ended up shoving just about everything into our dining room to make our rooms presentable. It was a great reminder that your family/your home are not supposed to be perfect – it is our jobs as photographers to simply capture the love and joy of your new addition! I feel so honored to get to capture these special memories for my families!

Fitz ended up sleeping through our entire photoshoot which documented him just how he was at that age – a sleepy little newborn!

Hellooo 2022!! I had my first official shoot back from maternity leave this weekend and I loved getting to spend it with this wonderful family! I’ve known for years and it was so fun to see her as a mama! Their pup, Franklin, also got a gold star ⭐️ I have a whole new appreciation for + love of these sweet newborn sessions 🥰
Giving myself lots of grace as I transition into part time working + mom-ing, and SO grateful for the support + care of Fitz’s grandma “Gigi” who is helping make it possible!

New on the blog! I’m sharing our birth story & some of the beautiful images our friend + doula captured for us! I am so grateful to have these photos, because I want to remember bringing this little guy into the world forever. I was on a different planet mentally once he arrived, so having these images are a priceless reminder of this miracle!

I am so glad I still got to play with some fall color with my families this year!! There is not much more I love than a crisp fall morning when the foliage is beginning to turn around the city! Here’s to soaking up the turning of the seasons and putting pumpkins in and on *everything*!!

Belated gratitude post for our incredible holiday tinies day!! I’ve still got a fair amount of editing + admin work to do, but the end is in sight!! Sharing a bittersweet announcement I posted over on today! 💛

To the incredible Om Mama Community -

I am so grateful for what we have built together over the last 3 years. It is with this full heart that I share that Om Mama will be going on pause with me as I begin maternity leave this month. I am excited to give myself the space to experience + navigate this transition to motherhood.

I cannot begin to express how much you all, and this community, mean to me. I truly feel so supported during my own pregnancy, and TTC journey, thanks in large part to Om Mama. This is what I want for every birthing person - to feel surrounded by a community, friends and team of providers that they can lean on. To grieve and celebrate alongside them.

What is staying: the Om Mama Website and it’s extensive catalog of resources, providers, blog posts and guides. The Om Mama Mighty Network virtual community is also staying, however with a few less bells and whistles - it will mainly serve as an online group where parents can connect (and I hope you take advantage of!).

What’s going: I’ll be posting less on the Om Mama IG (and the newsletter) - but I would love for you to follow along my motherhood journey with me at . Gatherings + new content will be put on pause.

I have no idea where this road will continue to take me, and us, but for now I am celebrating the heck out of what we have created.

Fall is coming in strong this September in the PNW! I am loving seeing the pops of autumn color, the cooler mornings, and the cozy drizzle. It can tend to require a little flexibility when it comes to outdoor family sessions, though!

I wanted to share a couple of tips + reminders as we head into the wetter months!

1. I typically wait until the 24 hour forecast comes out to make any decisions about your session in relation to rain. The weather, especially in the PNW, can be extremely unpredictable, so I’d hate to cancel your session several days in advance and the weather turns out to be lovely!

2. Bring an umbrella + some rain boots! Big trees provide great rain coverage, and what is more PNW vibes than a little drizzle? Ladies, I recommend wearing your hair curly or up (or double up on the hairspray) if it tends to get frizzy!

3. Cloudy weather is actually great for pictures; I call clouds “nature’s diffuser” because they result in beautiful soft lighting!

4. If it’s pouring, think of indoor options! Since we’re in Covid times, the best place to be is likely your home, so clear out a corner or two near a window and we’ll be good to go!

Coming soon!! 🎉 - & not just this baby! 😂 I have been working hard with the Collective Members on one last big project for Om Mama before I head out on maternity leave - The Om Mama Pregnancy Guide!!! Topics covered in the guide range from pelvic floor health, to motherhood meditation, and postpartum recovery + two chapters from me, Documenting Your Pregnancy and First 48 Tips (a collab with !). I am SO proud of how it is coming together, it is *almost* done and I can't wait to share it with you! I’ll be sharing sneak peeks all next week over on about what you can expect - and be launching officially by the end of the month! Om Mama is turning THREE and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate!!! Keep your eyes out!

It has been a busy week and I feel like in just a blink, week 32 of pregnancy flew by! I don't often travel super far for maternity sessions... but when I do, it is for one of my best friend's shoots, who happens to be due the same week as me! We headed out to the coast to Ruby Beach and had a magical time celebrating their baby (also a boy!)

Labor Day weekend also marks our anniversary of living in Washington - 9 years now! Which totally blows my mind. I love that we are often out exploring the PNW for this holiday weekend and I just know that next year, a full decade, plus our baby boy is going to be so so special. 

The next day, Kevin + I headed up to the opposite end of the PNW spectrum - the mountains! - for OUR maternity photos! We are so in love with the sneak peeks my friend  has already shared with us and can't wait to see more. Betty specializes in adventure elopements - so while she doesn't do maternity sessions often, I knew this would be a special way to celebrate our mountain boy with one of my best friends! We lucked out with incredible weather up at Mount Baker and we are so grateful to her for adventuring with us! 

I have just 3 more full weeks of shooting before I head out on maternity leave, and it is definitely starting to sink in that baby's arrival is coming up quick! More on all of this soon, friends!!

Absolutely in love with the vibe from last night's at-home lifestyle session with my dear friend !! Betty wanted to capture her family doing their favorite things - and showcase their gorgeously renovated home + yard. We had snacks and cocktails, danced to a record in the living room, read outside, and built a fire. I can't wait to go through more of these priceless photos! This is what love, family + photography is all about. Thank you, Betty and Matt for having me to your home & photographing you loving on each other and your sweet boys! Xx

Kevin + I spent the weekend doing all sorts of nesting, including painting the nursery! (Check out my stories for a sneak peek!) I am so excited to start seeing things coming together and feel so happy getting our home prepped for our little guy. The to-do list is *daunting* but we'll keep slowly chipping away at it! What were some of your favorite nesting activities? What felt like it *needed* to get done before baby arrived? Painting has probably been one of the more *cute* nesting activities I've done... others have included weeding and organizing the basement...  😂 Let me know yours in comments!

Friends! I am floored that Holiday Tinies are SOLD OUT! Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who booked a slot! I am so so thankful to get to spend this day celebrating you + your families! 

I can't believe I'm saying this... but my schedule is officially booked for the year as I document families over the next two months and prepare for maternity leave! I have gotten pretty emotional thinking about this (thank you hormones!) but I am learning my limits, appreciating this season, and am so grateful to already be feeling transformed by this motherhood experience. (And I have some amazing referrals I can send your way if you're looking for a family photographer this fall!) 

I would love to have the opportunity to photograph you in 2022. I will be back shooting in January! I am already halfway booked for January newborn due dates and am so excited for what life will look like post Fitz's arrival. I know it is going to be a wild ride, and I appreciate all of the love and support I am already receiving! Thank you for being a part of this journey. Truly.

I've booked an amazing Ballard studio () for these fun, 15 minute family sessions on the morning of Saturday, October 2nd! Slots will be available from 9am-2pm. I know it’s hard to believe the holidays are just around the corner as we swelter away in the August haze… BUT this will be the last (and only!) opportunity to shoot with me in 2021! 🤯🤯🤯

The insanely talented planner/floral designer .hancock will be creating a special backdrop installation just for us!! It will be PNW/winter themed (not Christmas specific!) Additionally there is a beautiful neutral white backdrop that will be the perfect setting for your updated family photos.

We are finally back home after an incredible trip to the Grand Teetons, Wyoming + Bozeman, Montana! We spent a week in the Teetons with Kevin's extended family - 25 of us in total! It was a priceless vacation filled with lots of quality time, hiking, paddle boarding, 5-course dinners every night, and even a little baby shower for Fitz! Jenny Lake Lodge was absolutely magical and just steps from some of the most beautiful hikes in the park!

After our time in the Teetons, we headed up to Montana to visit one of my longest, childhood friends + her precious new baby girl! We had such a great time exploring Bozeman with their family and we are already planning future trips back. We also picked up a couple of art pieces for Fitz's room in Montana and I can't wait to start putting the nursery together soon!

I'm heading into a very busy week of shoots, doctors appointments and playing catch up - I can't believe we're already cruising into the third trimester of this pregnancy! Doing my best to hold space for celebrating this season, documenting so many wonderful families + feeling the pulls of nesting and slowing down. August is here and coming at full force!
