We are a self-care barn in the community of Aquia Harbour. All of the horses are privately owned and all care is provided by the owner. Stay tuned. :)

All the horses are getting ready for the Halloween fun today! They’re doing a costume theme this year…. Any guesses what everyone will be??
It’s alllllmost time to celebrate!! Stop by the open house at the stables from 330-430! Say hi to the ponies, grab a some Fourth of July swag and snag some photo ops! Then head to lions park to hop on a shuttle to the party at the harbour inn! 🤩

Join us for some horse and Halloween fun!
The horses will be paraded around the outdoor arena from 2:30- 3:00 and the barn will be open to walk through until 4 to see the horses in their costumes!

Fun Horse Fact--> Our horses have their hooves trimmed about every 8 weeks to help keep them healthy and feeling good! Here’s Mini Ini getting her hooves trimmed by her most wonderful Farrier, Robert.

Did you know Ari and Ini (the minis) were adopted from Central Virginia Horse Rescue? We are so thankful for all they do for horses and hope to help foster and/or adopt more!
The minis were loving getting walked, groomed, and fancy hair dos by a new friend today! Ari even showed her how dirty she can get after getting brushed!

Thank you for your help naming the minis! There were so many great choices, we left it up to the minis to pick their names! :) Check out the video for their names! We are working to get the Stable Club planned and scheduled. We are also starting a non-profit to benefit horses, events, and community involvement. Stay tuned for how to sign up! Is it spring 2022 yet?! Our friends at the stables are ready to say farewell to winter AND we have some exciting horsey opportunities for our community in the works as the weather warms up! Keep an eye out for a survey to gauge interest that'll be posted soon! We loved having the community join us to celebrate the holidays and look forward to hosting more events!
ETA: And it’s back! ETA: Sorry but the power was short lived and went out again. We will try to update if it returns. PSA: Power is restored at the stables! Please let us know if you need a charging station as we have volunteers willing to accompany you through the security gate at the barn to charge up your devices! To those of you inquiring about the horses during the storm, thank you, they are all well! They’re just spending lots of time inside as their paddocks are holding a lot of standing water/ice at the moment and their feet can only tolerate it for a length of time. They are getting breaks to go out and stretch and play when it’s safe- we’ll post a video below!
