** SHARE WITH PET OWNERS **

DO NOT forget about your furry friends with the upcoming heat! DId you know that concrete and asphalt surfaces are significantly hotter than the air temperature? With air temperatures exceeding 90 degrees next week, the surfaces you walk your pets on will be as much as 40-60 degrees hotter. These hot surfaces may damage your pet's skin. You can test the pavement temperature by holding your hand on it for 7 seconds. If it too hot for your hand, it is too hot for your pets.

Spike ( age 8) and his " sister" Minnie ( age 11) need a loving home set up urgently. They belong to Dr. Kocher's neighbors whose health status is pushing them into assisted living. Ideally they would be rehomed together as a bonded pair. Their humans will be leaving in 7 to 10 days and we would like them to stay with the family until they leave. SCVH is aware of rumors circulating on social media about some Purina products. Large pet food companies are popular targets, but in truth they have the resources and motivation to not only develop but test and maintain their products. Any truthfully valid claim against their product safety would be investigated both internally and by the FDA. If a scenario develops that is supported by science and investigation we will share it with you as we are made aware. Please don't stop using a quality product on the basis of a TikTok rumor ( yes I know tiktok is an unbiased, scientific research source...(😜insert sarcasm here)

This girl ...is so much more than a tech.
Billie is my head tech, my practice manager, my right hand and my work wife. She has been my confidante, my cheerleader, my sounding board and my friend. I've been privileged to have her as an integral team member since she was still a green extern in tech school.
Billie is driven to be the best...she had mad tech skills, always hits her veins, restrains even the most rambunctious dog or fractious cat ( well maybe she doesn't actually do the snakes....🐉) Her management skills are part of what keeps my business moving.

Billie helped raise my kids ( really), held my hand thru losing my own pets( even on Christmas) and helped me dig back thru an embezzlement that almost lost my business. She was there thru the pain and joy of my remodel. She keeps your pets safe under anesthesia and knows EVERYTHING about every piece of equipment. She starts before I get there and is such a part of the heart and soul of SCVH.

Today was a surgery day with "B"...like so many before, but also the end of an era. See, today was Billie's last day as my full time rock. Billie has strong family responsibilities and is stepping into a new role for her family, but will stay on PT here as my Tuesday surgery tech.

So if you don't see her in the exam room know this...she loves all your pets and this decision was hard for her. She is as much a part of SCVH as I am, and I owe a lot of what I am today as a vet to her.

Thank you Billie. For everything. ❤️

Revival can tell you more about that but just alerting that this likely has no tie to Orange City besides the chip was shipped through this company to its final destination.” **

State College Police brought us this lovely young lady who was found on Mitchell St. near Atherton. If you know her owner please reach out to us at 814-238-8181. She does have a chip and may be named Queenie but we have not been able to reach an owner.
