💗 More often than not, days overflow into nights...and nights overflow into days. As humans, all of this rescue stuff is incredibly draining physically, mentally and emotionally.
Sometimes we know the unimaginable, disgusting, painful things they have endured. Even if you are not an animal lover, to be made aware of the cruelty humans are capable of is daunting.
Yet these dogs...even the most mistreated ones...they are so much better at not losing hope than we are. Whether it be a sigh of relief, a playful bow, a zoomie around the yard or simply eye contact...these are all signs of hope.
Every dog we intake is coming from different circumstances.
Some have never experienced love, only abuse and neglect.
Some have been very loved and suddenly find themselves homeless.
Some are decompressing from shelter stress and are finally able to sleep peacefully for the first time in months.
So, although some grooming days are crazier than others, it's also a great time for our adoptables to observe, learn, socialize, play, explore, relax and be pampered. We learn a lot about them along the way, too...observations and information we can relay to our foster families and adoptive families.
Positive days like these are just very special to us...because it symbolizes a fresh start. It's a welcoming to Murphy's Paw Rescue, a promise that we will take care of them from here on out and that they will soon have humans who will love them and a place to call home.
There are some newbies here in this video..and we will create an updated album of adoptables later today that will include some who have been waiting patiently in foster as well as some new ones who are now ready and on the lookout for forevers!
