I'm in desperate search of people to help with putting up hay tomorrow afternoon/evening. I never say I'm desperate for anything but it's a real struggle to find anyone this time around. Even just an hour or 2 is better than nothing.

Lately we have had quite a few volunteer cancellations and therefore haven't had much help out at Peacefield. At this time of year it wouldn't be a problem, we're used to it because the students have left for the summer, but I have had the misfortune of getting poison ivy all over my face and in my eyes, so Bruce has been having to do everything while I get this rash under control. We're getting ready to bale hay this week as well, so it's quite a burden for him. Please consider getting back on our volunteer roster if you have volunteered in the past but needed to take a break. Thanks!

Well, our 5K run is only a little over a week away! This Saturday, the animal rights club from Terre Haute South, S.M.A.S.H., is coming out for a spring cleaning workday to help get ready for the big day. If you're a Peacefield volunteer, please join us anytime between 12 and 6. We're anticipating our biggest crowd ever for the run and we want to put our best "hoof" forward!

Mary an LPN from Indiana has joined the Favorite volunteering program this holiday season! Mary and her family volunteer every Friday for at least 3 hours at Peacefield Equine Sanctuary. Peacfield is a non profit horse rescue in Terre Haute, Indiana where they rescue horses from severe cases and that are in need of medical attention. The goal is to rehabilitate the horses and find them a forever home that can care for their special needs. Mary and her family not only provide the horses with love and attention but they regularly shovel stalls and pastures, groom horses, clean the barn, feed, and doing anything else that needs to be done.
