Please remember to express gratitude to a shelter staff member tomorrow. Show them kindness, grace, and compassion. Tomorrow, they will have to end the lives of innocent dogs and cats to accommodate the numerous strays that irresponsible owners failed to properly secure during the firework displays. This task will bring them tremendous sorrow and mental anguish. Many will question their ability to continue in this role. Tomorrow, those irresponsible owners will cause a shelter worker to end the life of an innocent dog or cat while providing comfort to the animal. July 5th is the busiest day for shelters nationwide, with the highest euthanasia rate of the year. Don't let your pet become a statistic. Take better care of them. Ensure their safety and security during fireworks by securing fences and remaining at home to care for them.

NOTE: We need to note that our shelter in TC has no intention of euthanizing any animals!! But then again, we don’t operate like most municipal shelters. The facts are based on a national average, not OUR shelter!!

🎆🐾 Happy Fourth of July from The Colony Animal Services! 🐾🎆

In honor of the holiday, we will be closed on Thursday, July 4th. As you celebrate, please remember to keep your pets safe during the festivities.

Here are some tips to ensure your furry friends have a safe and calm holiday:

Secure Fences and Gates: Double-check that all fences and gates are secure to prevent any escapes.
Update Microchip Information: Ensure your pet's microchip information is up to date.
Recent Photos: Have a recent photo of your pet handy in case they manage to get out.
Calming Measures: Provide your pet with calming needs if they have issues with fireworks. This could include anxiety vests, calming treats, or a quiet space indoors.

Introducing our: Surrender Waiting List Adoption Page - your go-to spot for connecting with pets in need of a forever home.

Here's how it works:

Connecting Pets & Hearts: Residents who can't keep their pets send us basic information. We’ll share their profiles on that page, including their personality, photos, and a unique ID Number. (Owners' info stays private!)

Interested in adopting? Simply call us with the pet’s name and ID Number. We'll set up a meet-and-greet at TCAS, where you can bond and see if it’s a perfect match. 🐕❤️🐈

Bringing Them Home: When you find your furry soulmate, a $20 surrender fee from the current owner and a $95 adoption fee from you will cover all essentials: spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and more.

Not the Right Fit? No worries. The pet returns home until we find their perfect match.

We're thrilled to remind you of our TCAP event TODAY, offering LOW-COST VACCINATIONS for your furry friends! 🐕🐈 Don't miss this opportunity to keep your pets healthy at an affordable price.

🕙 TIME: 10 AM - 12 PM. But heads up! The line starts forming around 9-9:30 AM, so make sure to come early to secure your spot.
🚒 LOCATION: Firehouse #3, 4691 N Colony Blvd (right across from the old Kroger). A spot that's easy to find!

ADOPTION EVENT!!

We will be having an adoption event this weekend at the Stonebriar Mall in Frisco. It will be inside by Dicks Sporting Goods from 1-4pm. We have not determined who we will be bringing at this time, but will post Friday evening the pets who will be attending the event.

Adoption fees are $95 and that includes the spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, and first round of vaccinations. If you see a specific pet that you would like to adopt then we suggest getting to the event early.

We hope that we will be able to find a family for each of the pets we bring!

TCAP LOW COST SHOT CLINIC

Today from 10-12 we will be having our very last shot clinic of 2023! It will be at Firehouse #3 4691 N. Colony Blvd. Make sure to get their early as the line will get long. All dogs must be kept on leash and all cats must remain in a carrier at all times.

We hope to see everyone there!

LAST ADOPTION EVENT FOR THE YEAR!

We will be having our final adoption event of the year at the Stonebriar Mall, inside by Dicks Sporting Goods. We will be there this Saturday from 3-5pm. We will have dogs and kittens available for adoption. We will post later in the week which dogs we will be taking to the event so stay tuned for that.

If you are interested in adopting a specific pet then be there early as we do not allow holds. Adoptions are a first come first serve. Adoption fees are $95 and that includes the mandatory spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, microchip, and first round of vaccinations. Cash is preferred. If you do not have cash you must be willing to leave credit card information on our adoption forms.

We hope to see everyone there and to get a lot of babies adopted for this event!

This coming Saturday the 8th from 3-6pm we will be having an adoption event at the Stonebriar mall in Frisco. We will be inside the mall near Dicks Sporting Goods. We will have kittens, and puppies available for this event. Be on the lookout as we will post photos on Friday of what animals we plan on taking to the event Saturday. Adoptions are a first come first serve basis as we do NOT allow holds on any animals.

All adoptions under one year of age are $95 and that includes the mandatory spay/neuter, rabies, the microchip, and the first round of vaccinations. Cash is preferred or you MUST be okay with putting credit card information on the adoption forms.

📣📣 You’re Invited to our Grand Re-Opening. 📣📣 A generous donor who choose to remain anonymous donated over $60,000 to revamp our backyard. Now our 🦴doggies 🦴have new outdoor kennels, new grass and irrigation, new fence, fountain, and storage building. It’s a doggie heaven! Then the city gave us a great new building which is going to allow us to expand the 🐈 cat sanctuary 🐈 in our old building. So many exciting things happening around our 🐾Small Shelter 🐾with a Big 💝 Heart! So come join us this morning, June 24 @ 10 am!
